Even though it is Origin I think it may reveal our chances to take out the comp this year.

Pearce and Boyd if they play blinders and the Blues win the game could go a long way towards the Chooks winning the comp.

Joey Johns has said Pearce has reached the lightbulb moment that only very few playmakers get to. In which the game slows down so much for them that the playmaker usually makes the right decision on most if not all of the plays like JT or Cronk and Johns or Freddy in the past.

I am really looking forward to how Pearce plays the game and how Cordner leads the team next Wednesday night as it will give an insight as to how we fare in the finals I think.

Doubt if any of our players will back up next club game in Adelaide so it will be a tough assignment depending on what team the Storm field -which will be string opposition no matter what I suggest

Most likely someone will get a rest. He rested Cronk after origin 1.

Rested smith after origin 1, then rested Cronk v Cronulla. So hopefully billy gets a rest after origin 2.

If I was Robbo I would rest all of our origin players for the Storm game plus JWH & Friend & then be at full strength for the Sharks game.

I don't think we should be sacrificing the 2 points.
Jarred and Friend have just had a 2 weeks rest from playing so why give them a further break.

That's basically throwing the match. No way would I do that.

JWH and Friend will have had two weeks rest heading into the Storm clash so they'll be fresh and ready to go.

I'd also play Pearce, Naps and Fergo but rest Cordner.

I bet you even with a full strength team that the Roosters wont get over Melbourne in Adelaide.

How boring is the bye weekend ...

I think there should be two Origin games a year, on stand alone weekends, so you've always got good footy to watch. Apart from maybe a weekend of international football, there would be no other bye rounds.

The Origin shield would be contested on Bledisloe Cup guidelines, with the previous year's winner just needing one win to keep the Shield. It would work (in a way that the Bledisloe Cup doesn't) because the two teams are evenly matched.
The challenger should always host the first game: given the importance of home ground advantage, the second game will usually be a decider, with the Shield up for grabs.

You think they will want to miss such a big game? I doubt it.

                              Good first post The Chook.

Like the others I hate bye weekend but the two games this evening were actually pretty good and both cliff hangers.

Good thing the Storm won as I would hate to be playing them coming off a loss.

I think we are a reasonable chance against the Storm after origin. Hopefully they give one of the big 3(probably Slater this time) a rest.
