  • Michael 'Diamond' Gordon

Is it just me or does MG remind you of the legendary Luke 'Diamond' Phillips?

The way he fearlessly runs at the line, his running style and the way he positions his body when he steps takes me back to the late 90's/early 2000's.

    I love watching him play.

He is solid at the back and I love how he gives 100%...

Don't know what's up with his kicking. Can't johns help?

With Fitzy and Johns about, hopefully Gordon will get his kicking back on track next round.

Don't expect it, coaching can only help so much. It's like putting, he has the yips. It was the same last year at the Eels. This is usually a sign that your time is up.

Speaking of goal kicking, does anyone know when SST is back? Someone was saying he will have a run at Wyong first.

His kicking the past couple of weeks has not matched Michael Diamond's gold medal accuracy if that's what you were referring to. Fortunately he's a lot better behaved though...

Don't worry, SST will be back soon, he can have a go

been playing with a groin/upper leg injury which has affected his goal kicking - maybe be rested with Watson playing fullback - I suppose Mitchell and or SST if back will take on the GK duties

I wasn't actually pointing towards his goal kicking but rather his playing style which I reckon is very similar to Diamonds.

More Rocks than Diamonds when he bombed that try.

Diamond wasn't perfect 100% of the time either. He's nowhere near Diamond in ability but the style of play sure is similar.

I get the point but Diamond would have scored that try. Gordon was running on the spot.

Agreed. Even MG look surprised he got tapped. The look on his face was 'did that really just happen?'

Yea that speed he had seems to be long gone. I do appreciate his positioning at the back, I wonder if he has trouble organising our defensive line

In my opinion we are leaking points more because players (esp Fergo) are missing tackles - rather than due to bad defensive organisation.
