  • The difference....

Last season we lost a lot of games by only a few points. It killed us. Had we won the close ones we could have just about cracked the 8 in what ended up a dismal year.

This season the last couple of games have indicated that this season we can win these close games. The belief is there in the team, and this was evident even in the nines tournament where we won the close games without some of the big names, which hopefully shows that this belief extends throughout the squad.

That said I think the stable start of the season with no dramas, only SST as the major injury out, and all the big names on deck has been a major factor. Following the lead of the experienced players the younger players also look to have stepped it up. Positional switches (Matterson, Mitchell) have also worked.

Recruitment also appears to have been astute with Gordon, Keary, and Tetevano slotting in and providing things that were missing last year...

To keep the dangerous free-scoring Panthers to one try also may herald a return to the desperate defensive intensity that premierships are built on.

    May it continue.....

It's definitely a good sign that we're winning close games.

The desperation in defence last night was amazing and reminiscent of 2013.

That said, I've almost had two straight heart attacks and a 3rd straight vs Souffs would not be appreciated.

So a big win would be lovely
