I'm making an assumption here but gee it must be hard for footy players to adapt to post-footy life.
Not your Thurston's, Ennis' and Smiths, who no disrespect to them, have either made huge sums of money or have a great career in the media awaiting, or both.
But for the fringe first graders, who don't make huge money. To leave behind the dream life of a pro footy player to have to get a real job. It must feel like nothing they ever do again will ever match the highs and joy of their footy career.
Would be such a struggle to re-adapt.

Other times they turn to drugs and even worse things though.

It's 9 years to the day that Chad was found. This one hits hard for me as my family were at Rookwood on 10 January 2017 for one of our own family members' funeral when we saw Chad's also. He played not only for our beloved Roosters but also for my family's team. Wishing that those fighting silent battles never spoken of will find some peace and kindness."She who is brave, is free. She who is free, is happy"

My thoughts very much with you, and what a nice thing to share honouring Chad. You say it well and I agree completely about those fighting silent battles. They need the most support of all. If anyone on here is, contact me anytime if you need a chat.Originally posted by Duchess_of_Bondi View PostIt's 9 years to the day that Chad was found. I had the same architect as Chad (Souths fan too) back in 2008 and he said that he was the most beautiful man he had ever met. Those comments stayed with me all this time. Thanks for your kind wishes and you can just call me Bernie, my real name, as I don't have anything to hide these days. The Duchess is my gorgeous Irish friend who has since moved away and I'd let her set up this profile. I'm not worthy of the title like she is..Originally posted by Batemans Bay Rooster View Post

. We need to have Roosters fans far and wide, even up in the far northern hemisphere. I have friends in Huddersfield who were the first to contact me late Sunday night last week as well.
Anyone who knows me will know I'm always up for putting on the kettle or dishing out the gelato to anyone who needs it. I'm better at helping others than seeking it for myself and I've finally come to terms with that."She who is brave, is free. She who is free, is happy"
