Why can a reserve grade team like Melbourne - missing its 1, 7 and 9 - play a structured game of footy?

We had a superior team on paper but only managed 4 points. Our completions in the second half was woeful but when we had the ball in the first 20mins, we were a disorganised rabble. No structure whatsoever

Our problems in attack have been evident all year. Smith can't put it down to missing players last night. He needs to take responsibility for our rabble attack

His saving grace from the axe is our injury toll but that is really masking the problem IMO

While the Storm were missing their best 3 players, the rest of the team was pretty much their regular first grade team which gives them stability. We had the vast majority of our squad unavailable last night and a team that looks nothing like what we would field given the choice. A bunch of blokes with a handful of first grade games will affect your structure.

Rubbish. Most teams have injuries at this time of year. St G lost on friday but look at some of the attack they put on, with 9 players out! With experienced halves like Carney and Anasta, you'd expect some genuine attacking moves, and at the very least the centres getting some reasonable opportunities in space. Doesn't happen. Carney runs across field hoping, and Anasta has his left short side rush play

I can't ever recall seeing a worse attacking side than this one

We have been a rabble all year, last night being the latest incompotent, incarnation of it.

I don't know what Smith is doing with these players during the week but it ain't working as we are not showing any improvement in any aspect of the game. Even our defence is slipping. Two very soft tries last night.

But then as no one at the club gives a flying fark we are a joke why should I.

        Chook.

          Exactly.

Tis why the Storm, owned by News Ltd, 'the owners of the game', are second on the ladder.
