You are 100% correct Eddie. You shouldn't pay big money for wingers. And to get Mansour we would have to do just that.

1. Gordon
2. Skids
3. Fergo
4. Latrell
5. Mansour
That would have to be the biggest backline in the nrl.
Lets see Manu vs some of the top sides. Warriors were rubbish

Dunno, maybe they'll think twice about wasting big $$ on him after seeing Manu last night... probably need to give him a few more games though and see what he can really do. It'll be a good test against the dogs I reckon if he makes the cut, up against sammy perrett or curtis rona

I'd say that Manu will be given first shot at one wing spot next year. The other you would think goes to Gordon if we sign him.
If we really need to buy another wing I would look at Rona. Off contract, a good finisher and would be cheaper than Mansour.

I would rather pay a bit more for a quality winger, than have 600k spare in the cap doing nothing. Alot of mistakes have been made by our wingers, pay a bit for quality, and all of a sudden, stupid mistakes and dropped balls become less of a problem, and tries that wouldn't have been tries before, suddenly get scored.
You can never have too much quality in your team.

I cant believe Fergo has made Origin, his form is very average at best so far this season, and forget Mansour, solid at best our main target should be Holmes, he can play any position in the backine, but I want him to be a centre, plus as a bonus he is a very good goal kicker. I hope they upgrade Connor Watsons contract before he is stolen away from us, he has been great so far in his few appearances, a deadest talent of the future.

Well said mate. Ppl who understate the importance of wingers should take a closer look at 2013. Rts and tupou were machines at bringing the ball out of our own end. It makes a massive difference. Mansour was leading the league for tackle busts before he ran into those injuries last year. Forget about the money and just stack the side with talent.Originally posted by milanja View PostI would rather pay a bit more for a quality winger, than have 600k spare in the cap doing nothing. What we miss this year is outside backs that can make good yardage from dummy half out of our own end. RTS was incredible at it. Jennings was decent too. The only back that does it well now is SKD. If we snag Mansour it would go a long way to solving this issue because he does it very well. It takes so much pressure off the forwards. Having said that if given the choice between Mansour and Rona I would buy Rona. Rona is a centre playing on the wing. He is big and strong and would cause damage. Manu is also a centre playing on the wing. My ideal backline for next year would be:
Mitchell
Ferguson
Manu
Rona
Kenny-Dowall

Good points there , but I guess the key is not to have 600k spare in the cap without a definite plan for it's use.Originally posted by milanja View PostI would rather pay a bit more for a quality winger, than have 600k spare in the cap doing nothing. I just think the money could be much better spent than paying Mansour.
