Granted his best days are behind him, but his impact plays are still important, and if we were at full strength he'd be a real asset off the bench.
I think his lack of height gives him an advantage that he exploits pretty well.

I suppose it depends how much he want's to be a limited game time bench player, he's good for the middle 20 minutes as he still hit's it up hard and has a heavy hit on him in defence but runs out of puff fairly quickly so 10 mins before half time to 10 to 15 after half time.

Id swap Sam for Sam . Sam Mataora from the Knights. In a shit team i think he goes good, young and hungry, would be ideal

Sadly, I think his best is behind him. Maybe back to the UK to recharge his batteries and get some decent cash for a final contract. I doubt anyone else would sign him up in Aust after he finishes with us. A gentleman off the field, but father time catches up to all of us.

As I started this thread am I to assume this is directed at me? All supporters including yourself are entitled to an opinion Kingbilly. My opinion is that Sam Moa isn't much these days. Is that ok with you mate? Please save the abusive language for elsewhere. Thank you

Without Moa th other night we woulda been steamrolled in the forwards and the score woulda been 60+ to 0. Moa's a great player who knows what it's like to be unwanted and between contracts. He's one of the last players I'd offload...

Not blaming the kids for our losses but I think we've signed pretty much the best U20's talent over the past few seasons. Now that we've got all these kids, we've gotta work out which ones are serious enough and wanna play 1st grade.

I can name a few kids already... Napa, Evans, Matterson, Latrell... few more maybe? I think this year is mostly a test run for which kids we need to keep. Hastings, Watson, Nikorima, Burgess and a few older guys (Pearce, Copley and Vunakece for example) are on trial. I think Robbo wants guys like Vunakece who turn up to extra training sessions because they WANT to play 1st grade, and take their careers seriously enough. Does he want guys like Pearce and Hastings who have powerful dads and a heap of natural talent? I dunno. And if not, are guys like Nikorima and Watson thirsty enought to DEMAND their starting spots based on performance? People criticise Toops, but I see NOBODY (that's you Burgess) knocking on the door and saying 'LET ME PLAY!!!! I'LL FARKING CARVE UP IF GIVEN THE CHANCE COACH!!!' I don't see that from Burgess/Slime Ankle and it's worrying.

I know it's hard to play with passion when we're getting thumped every weekend (I've been there done that as a junior... in a number of teams I was by far the fittest and most of the team went to 'the alley' to smoke bongs and do coke instead of training - I know it's a team sport but it farking sucked zipping around the field and making rep teams when others couldn't care less.) I don't think the Chooks are THAT pathetic as a team, HOWEVER, somebody's gotta take ownership for our pathetic offseason. We slacked off last summer and now we've got absolutely no petrol left in the tank. Whose fault is that? Who's gonna make sure we don't have another pathetic off-season like that EVER again?
