  • Mitchell Pearce and Origin

Zero Tackle saying MP doesn't want to play Origin this year.

We're coming home with a wet sail, baby.

    Go the Chooks.

Pearce has told senior Roosters coaches and teammates that he feels he has let the team down this season and wants to make amends for the eight weeks he was suspended from the game.

He believes that sacrificing more time to Origin would be detrimental to the Roosters and put himself under more pressure.

“"Mitchell’s rehabilitation is at a very important stage",” Roosters coach Trent Robinsonsaid.

“"I'’ve told him to go away and think about it, but he seems to have made up his mind."

Credit to Pearce if that is the case, Origin is over rated these days in my opinion, just another game to have players out and get injuries, I hope we play the Cows and Broncs in that period

Very surprising, especially with the potential of $30-$50k per game.

It still shows how poor the quality of halves are in nsw if they are considering picking a player who will have played 3 matches in 13 games.

Queue 400 comments in the DT article saying "thank god" and "im a queensland fan please make him play"

NSW have been hopelessly outclassed in origin for the best part of a decade and will be until smith, thurston and cronk retire. Good luck to whover takes over the in halves for NSW.

Will be very happy to have Pearce in our seven jersey for the rest if the year.

How is that any different to how our own fans treat him?

I believe that season 2014 was the best form of Mitchell Pearce's career and not playing state of origin helped him.

Good news. Makes sense. Can concentrate on his club form. Hopefully, people will realize that there are 12 other players on the field besides the half-back when Origin comes around.

Very big of Pearce so sacrifice another $90k and representative honour.

I tipped it earlier Pearce would not play origin and some numbskull here thought the contrary due to the money at stake for him. 3?things come out of this - loyalty to the club, due to the misdemeanour, his access to his outside rehab meets and a big get faarked to the NRL

This is good news if true , I don't want him to be the scapegoat for origin loss again.
He needs to work on his fitness , and pay back the club and most of us fans for sticking by him.

I'd be surprised if it was his choice. He let a lot of people down and almost (maybe still, if we don't make the 8) ruined the season.
He has a lot of browny points to make up, guiding the team to the Preliminary Final will repay a chunk of them.
I like how it's been leaked to the press, basically forces Laurie's hand to not pick him. Alternatively, gives Lozza a great out, if he wasn't going to pick him (due to poor behaviour) and defuses all the rubbish press that would have been dredged up again.

I feel like Pearce could cure cancer and people would still criticise him for taking 27 years.

He's no chance of curing cancer
