  • Laying down to get a penalty

St George are becoming expert or at least prolific in staying down for a hard or slightly late tackle. They always get a penalty and the "injured" player bounces up as bright as a button.

It happened 4 times in todays game. It turns games and wins matches.

We dont do it of which im proud...but we are placed at a real disadvantage.

    Help.

St George brought the game into disrepute tonight.....on ANZAC Day of all days!
Mary McGreggor has lost any respect I had for him.
To then listen to the Press Conference and listen them state how much playing on Anzac means to them......PLEASE..

I am so please Robbo finally spoke up about the diving and the riffing..Thank God I do not support their team. I would be ashamed

They were a disgraceful in that regard. People harp on about how tough the NRL is, yet football (soccer) does more to stamp out diving/cheating.

I just posted exactly the same thing on another thread. It's useless complaining and having moral victories. We need to join the ranks of the "game managers" and stop putting ourselves at a disadvantage

Disgraceful lay down tactics. Nightingales was the worse. Was in a headlock around the neck but then grasps at his face like an Italian soccer player.

Merge's new team song. McGregor is not called 'Mary' for nothing.

No it doesn't but I see where you are going with this and I agree.

Couldn't help but think the same thing. What a cat. I held him in higher regard than that.

Well said. An insult to the aura that surrounded the match. It should never happen in the greatest game, let alone on a special day like today.

That said, they played to win and if that's how they won, they got the job done. We can all whinge and moan about it but we need to be better than that and find another way to win or we will be just be left complaining about who handled the refs the best. They got the chocolates, we didn't.

There are far too many over-paid Sheila's in rugby league today.

Fair dinkum, even a drag-queen fan on the way out apologised to me about this rubbish.

The Merge won a comp in 2010 on the back of the lay down. Archer was complicit then too.

It's 2016 and women along with the sensitive fairy men ruined our sport. It used to be a tough game now it's for the Sheila soccer poofters.
