whats the gameplan to nullify him? I reckon if we can control the middle and tire their big blokes we'll make good yardage and rub out rts. Early on need good numbers to tackle him as well imo

His last two games have been strong without being brilliant. He could produce something special this week. Warriors haven't worked out how to use him in attack yet. When they do they will be lethal. They really need to flick Robson and move lolohea to the middle though.Originally posted by Mickie Lane View PostHe'll have a blinder, guaranteed.

So just boot the ball into touch on the last tackle like Cronulla always did to us?Originally posted by Braith Anasta's Wallet View PostWe will also need a strong kicking game to reduce his effectiveness on kick returns.
Prob is we'll boot it out on the full and he'll take a tap from half way lol.

It's not he kick returns we need to worry about. It's him running the 2nd man play sweeping around to their left edge, attacking Ferguson and Guerra.
The way Ferguson panics and shoots out of the line mixed with Guerra's complete and utter laziness towards playin for the roosters in general could see him score 3 himself and set up another 4

My plan would be to win the game in the forwards and have tight defence for 80 minutes.
Thing with RTS is he's STILL getting 200+ metres a game. He's only 'less remarkable' this year because the team around him aren't as good... so he's getting a lot more missed tackles and his metres are all from kick returns deep in opposition territory rather than 20m out from the tryline (aka tries).
Beat the team around him and he'll use all his energy up trying to get them out of trouble (rather than putting the icing on the cake for them). It's possible if we keep improving like we have every week...
Other option is to play like the Sharks against him. Spoil the ball for 80 minutes (so that there's no quick ball for anybody), do negative shyte like kicking the ball into touch so that he never gets space and... get Guerra to milk a heap of penalties (like he supposedly did against Hodges). TBH I don't care if such tactics can win games narrowly, if we EVER do that, then I'm walking.Last edited by ism22; 04-02-2016, 08:41 AM.

We must ensure to kick to space as often as possible and perhaps it is worth kicking on the 4th tackle and following it up with a strong kick chase. I would like to see us make Roger do a lot of his work coming out from the Auckland Warriors own territory and wear down his effectiveness in attacking areas. If we can contain their forwards and win the territory battle with a strong kicking game then we will go a long way to nullifying both Roger Tuivasa Sheck and Shaun Johnson.Originally posted by ism22 View Post

However I believe that the real danger will come from Isaac Luke. We must win the ruck and slow the play down against him otherwise the Auckland Warriors will have momentum all day.
