Not entirely but there is an impact. Nikorema has caused significant problems in our right side defence. If Pearce was in then nikorema is used selectively off the bench rather than as a full time 5/8. This situation has led to a bunch of tries, including the first two against NQ which set the tone for the game and the canberra try right after half time which brought them back into it.

In a rebuilding year, which this year always was, key injuries exposing rookies too early or out of position can have a major impact, as can short turnarounds and travel.

Again, of course this is not the only cause of our issues at round three but it is significant.

Exactly, watching titans and Newcastle yesterday does not give me any confidence that we would beat them with our team at the moment.
