I still have my doubts he will get big minutes. Wouldn't be surprised to see aubo have short stints at hooker to give Jake a spell. Would allow us to carry an extra forward. I think this will definitely be the case once cords and jwh come back. Henderson won't get anywhere near the park.

So you made up the bit about Bennett contracting them then.Originally posted by Double View Post
Don't be ridiculous. The pair received scholarships at Wavell State after being spotted shortly after arriving from NZ.
So I guess the date on the paperwork read 1/1/2009. And no, Bennett wasn't required to sign the forms either.

Well if the Broncos paid for the scholarships, and Bennett was the head coach at the time, then I guess I did.Originally posted by Headless Chook View Post

I don't know what's funnier....you trying to make out that Bennett was the coach that signed them, or the fact you think a Head NRL coach would even know that the club had put a couple of teenagers on scholarshipOriginally posted by Double View Post

Surely this thread is a gee up ? Blessing in disguise? After one match against shit opposition?Originally posted by Ray Stehr View PostI don't think it's in disguise but Pearce's efforts with the puppy has opened the door for us to finally get a decent half/5/8. Nikorema is our savior and he will prove to be our best pivot since Freddy. It's obvious that Hastings is the goods and Nikorema's performance has me saying Maloney who. Pearce can stay in Thailand as far as I'm concerned.
It's a gee up.

Cannot believe some of you are quick the rubbish Pearce and praise Nikorima so lavishly. Heeeeeeelllo, it's one friggin trial match against sub standard opposition. The Roosters will miss Pearce and Maloney. Both are world class. Pearce has been superb for the Roosters for a very long time. Nikorima looks th goods, but FFS it's one match.

Agree, can't see having him start at 5/8 v Souths rd 1 and playing 80 is a good idea. I know what I'd b doing if I were Maguire, running the burgess Inglis straight at him all game. They will work him over for sure. So what's the alternative, perhaps start with Aubbo at 5/8,move him to hooker to relieve jake and bring Nikorima on for 20-25 minutes where he could have a dynamic impact fresh v there tiring forwards.Hate to see him have to make or attempt to make 30-35 tackles against big mobile oppositionOriginally posted by Bigchook View PostNikorima will get bashed in first grade. He will take more time than what Mitchell will.

It doesn't work that way.Originally posted by Insider View Post

You don't see Thurston or Johnson make 30-35 tackles a game.
It isn't as simple as running your big men at them all game.
It appeared to me that the kid had a solid defensive technique. He'll be fine in the long run so chuck him in the deep end. Better to lose for having tried and being aggressive, rather than losing by taking the negative option.

It's not as if we have another option for 5/8 either.
