  • Halves next week

Given that Pearce will be backing up from SOS (and will make about 40 tackles), is this an opportunity to play him off the bench and maintain the winning combination?

Although Anasta has been hopeless this year, he played well yesterday and showed great vision at times. Do we give the Carney / Anasta combo another shot?

With Pearce on the bench, we can drop Piggy and let Pearce give Friend a break from dummy half. We can also bring him on in the halves when the teams get tired - giving Anasta a break.

I think Pearce would be dangerous coming off the bench. He would have more spark. He is usually flogged after doing a mountain of defence. He can also come on in either the halves or dummy half - giving Smith more tactical options. It would also mean he can play 30 minutes rather than the full game to keep him fresh after backing up from origin.

    Carney 7, Pearce 6.

From Memory some of our best tries at the back end of last year Carney had slipped into first receiver.

I think he is less predictable than Pearce, I would like to seem them swap, otherwise........ back to Pearce at 7 and Carney at 6.

Anasta must be nowhere near the halves. Or the first grade team.

Call me crazy but I think Smith might just name Pearce at 7 and Carney at 6.

anasta played better yesterday. I hardly doubt he will pull his finger out 2 weeks in a row.

Expect the NSW halves to switch this Wednesday, which could be the start of the change at the Roosters.

Pearce might need to recover from this 'niggle' anyway...

Like I said last night Chris.

"If you're going to do that could you make sure your colostomy bag doesn't hit me in the balls again."

                  No, wait. Uh, never mind.

                      Backing up from SOS?

I don't think it will be that bad.

Wayne Pearce laughed off any injury tonight... said he's got no idea where the rumour even came from.

Pearcey's made of the right stuff he'll back up no worries.
