  • Should Robbo ;

Should Robbo have lost his sh*t at the last presser?

Clearly a subtle, measured and respectful approach towards the NRL doesn't work.

The appointment of Cummin$ for this Friday nights clash beggars belief and is nothing short of a slap in the face to our club and it's fans.

    Thoughts.

My thoughts are that this is the third thread about Cummins on the front page and I couldn't give a **** who refs this match. The best team on the day will win. Or is that not tin hat crazy enough of an opinion?

we vmust get on the front foot in the press, loudly proclaim how the season method of allowing the game to be opened up allows a pleasing fast game of footy that showcases the best of both teams? nothing was preempted about wrestling pre match last week?

Refs like any human being hate critiscism. I'm sure that they are more worried about people like Hassler and Bellamy because they lose their cool at them in pressers.

If Robbo came out on Thursday and talked about the referring for the next game, we would see a different outcome. It's worked before when he had something to say about how we don't get penalties. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Anyone who doesn't think the appointment of that clown to our game will have an influence should check the stats.

I actually hate him. Real hate.

Last Friday's loss to the Storm now sees the Roosters faced with three successive sudden death finals to win the premiership.
Brisbane (1998), Melbourne (1999), Bulldogs (2004) and Brisbane (2006) are the only clubs that have previously achieved the ultimate comeback in the NRL era by winning the premiership after losing a match in the final series, but only Melbourne (1999) had to travel interstate and beat a team on their home ground in a preliminary final to reach the grand final – a task that the Roosters will now be faced with if they can get past the Bulldogs this Friday night.

After winning 12 successive matches to win the minor premiership, scoring the most points and conceding the least, they are more than capable of emulating the feat of Melbourne in 1999 and winning this year's flag. However, I'm sure they'll be anxiously looking at the refereeing appointments for any remaining matches.
I'm sure they'll be hoping that last Friday's senior referee Ben Cummins has officiated in his last Roosters match of the season. Since winning the 2013 premiership, the Roosters have a winning percentage of 75.55 per cent under referees other than Cummins, but it drops to just 14.28 per cent when Cummins shares the field with them. They have lost every penalty count under him in this period and concede 73.52 per cent more penalties than they receive when he is one of the on-field officials.

We lost by two points. Two points.

It wouldn't matter if they reanimated Barry Gomersall and they told him we were the Blues, the team will win if they are good enough.
                SUPER DRAGON!

I don't necessarily believe that Cummin$ was instructed that the Storm should win. More so, make it a close contest for TV land which is still fraudulent imo.

He changed it from an Autobahn to a 40km zone by simply not policing the ruck. The Storm were also off-side for the majority of the night so there's your speed humps.

Robbo definitely needs to ramp up the pressure on Cummins. No ifs bits or maybes.

It's our last throw of the dice and there has been too much invested into where we are now...to be busted by poor officiating again.

Whats our record under Chechin - surely it can't be better than Cummins?

Anyone who thinks the referees cost us the match last week is delusional. The referees didn't have a poor kicking game, the referees didn't bomb a certain try like Jennings, the referees didn't hit the post for the conversion. Both teams had their opportunities. Melbourne executed better on the day. We are still the team to beat in this comp imo regardless of who referees.

Ref definately had an influence on the way the game was played. We could not play our fast power game because we were held down in most rucks for too long and there were no consequences for the defending team.
But I agree. If we played better we would have won.

You are partly right that if we play mistake free, turn every opportunity into points we can overcome unfair refereeing. But the reality is playing perfect football is difficult to achieve and refereeing that is poorly administered brings us back to the field. The way a game unfolds has so many inputs and refereeing can not be ruled out as inconsequential. If there are penalties, the opposition gets tired, the rushed decisions we have to make aren't required, our mistakes can reduce , so on and so on. And that's not taking into account the mind set of the players when THEY know the appointed referees eccentricities....
