ROOSTERS chief executive Steve Noyce remains unconcerned that captain Braith Anasta is yet to put pen to paper on his new deal, stating that a handshake is good enough for him.
Roosters skipper Braith Anasta (centre) says his club can play better than last season
Anasta and the club announced the new two-year deal at the beginning of the season but there is no ink on the contract yet.
However, Noyce has no worries about a potential change of heart.
“It certainly doesn’t worry Braith or anyone at the club,” Noyce told sportsnewsfirst.com.au.
“He’s done a deal on shaken hands.
“If you shake hands and done a deal, it’s a done deal.
“He’s not going anywhere.”
The 29-year-old has been with the Roosters since 2006 following a five-year career at Canterbury - which included a premiership in 2004 over his future club.
Noyce says the delay in the signing the deal is due to the fact that both manager Greg Willett and club chairman Nick Politis have been away early in the year and felt no great urgency to have it formalised.
“Braith’s manager I think was away for a little while and our chairman has been a way for a little while, again you and other (Media) more concerned about it than we are,” Noyce said.
“It will all get done and Braith will continue to be a key person at the club.”
