ROOSTERS chief executive Steve Noyce remains unconcerned that captain Braith Anasta is yet to put pen to paper on his new deal, stating that a handshake is good enough for him.

Roosters skipper Braith Anasta (centre) says his club can play better than last season

Anasta and the club announced the new two-year deal at the beginning of the season but there is no ink on the contract yet.

However, Noyce has no worries about a potential change of heart.

“It certainly doesn’t worry Braith or anyone at the club,” Noyce told sportsnewsfirst.com.au.

“He’s done a deal on shaken hands.

“If you shake hands and done a deal, it’s a done deal.

    “He’s not going anywhere.”

The 29-year-old has been with the Roosters since 2006 following a five-year career at Canterbury - which included a premiership in 2004 over his future club.

Noyce says the delay in the signing the deal is due to the fact that both manager Greg Willett and club chairman Nick Politis have been away early in the year and felt no great urgency to have it formalised.

“Braith’s manager I think was away for a little while and our chairman has been a way for a little while, again you and other (Media) more concerned about it than we are,” Noyce said.

“It will all get done and Braith will continue to be a key person at the club.”

    good move by noyce.

The club is going to offer braith less than he has been getting.

Noyce comes out and says that a handshake deal is a deal.

If Braith does not sign, he has now broken a handshake agreement and looks VERY bad.

SO.....braith is at an impasse, does he sign a reduced contract, or throw out the window the notion of a gentlemans agreement and sign for the big bucks........

Fans need to create a petition to not re-sign him.

It had better be a reduced contract, not since Chris Walker has a player not been worth the sign up fee.

Well, i said it from the start, Braith gave alot of lip service to "wanting to play out his career with the roosters" and how he loved the place.

The reduced contract will be his test.

After Braiths previous antics in the papers regarding no offer from the Club,i can imagine how quickly he will run to the papers this time if the Roosters offer him a lesser deal.

It will get very ugly i believe..

I'm just going to say this now.

The Kray brothers had a mother (who they loved.)

Jack The Ripper had a mother (who he probably hated.)

John Glover had a mother (who he did hate.)

Even the most hateful, greedy and just plain mercenary people had mothers.

                    Just saying.

What's with the TWO YEAR DEAL? I thought it was just for one more year.

Why would it get ugly if he has already got the contract and shook hands?

Mini was 1 year, and Bwaiff was 2 years..
Getting ugly in reference to Supermarios theory that the Roosters will offer Braith less money when it comes to signing the deal!
If that happens,no doubt Bwaiff will run to the papers.

So many clubs are desparate for decent halves, clubs like sharks, parra, souths etc etc. Yet no one wants to look at anasta. A grade dud. We won't be able to move forward until he is completely gone.
