ROOSTERS star Shaun Kenny-Dowall has been charged with repeatedly assaulting former partner Jessica Peris.
Police today charged the 28-year-old player with a range of domestic violence offences, including six counts of common assault, one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and stalking/intimidating.
He attended the Maroubra Police Station this morning about 7am and was charged with 10 offences.
He was granted bail and will appear before Waverley Local Court on Thursday, July 23.
It was revealed yesterday Peris, the daughter of former Olympic gold medal winner-turned-Labor senator Nova Peris, attended Maroubra Police Station to seek an apprehended violence order late on Thursday night.
The NRL player and Peris, a sprinter, were in a de facto relationship for more than two years but split three weeks ago.

Kenny-Dowall, 27, is believed to have been living apart from Peris during that time.
Last night the Roosters released a statement that read: “The Sydney Roosters are aware of the allegations concerning Shaun Kenny-Dowall.
“As it is a police matter, the club will be making no further comment at this time.”
Senator Peris, who is currently attending the Indigenous Marathon Project in Central Australia, released a statement confirming the matter is before the courts.
“Regarding Senator Peris’ daughter Jessica — this is a private family matter that is before the courts,” the statement read.
“Senator Peris will not be making any further comment.”
This most recent development stands in contrast to the picture of love and support the two displayed just months ago.
Last August, the pair opened up to the media about their relationship describing it as loving and highly competitive.
“He’s always been a very humble person but he’s very sweet — he’s going to kill me for that,” she said in a TV interview at the time.
Kenny-Dowall added: “She picks me up when I’m down and I do the same for her.”
It’s believed the pair met in Bali before becoming involved with one another and moving to Coogee.

We need to give SKD the benefit of innocent before proven guilty.
This could be so destabilising for the club.
We were building so well, SKD won't be playing tomorrow.

Everybody's opinion is welcome and everybody's opinion is valid.
No doubt there will be contrary points of view. Hopefully any debate can be conducted civilly.

I heard it on the radio that possibly been charged for domestic violence in between October last year and June this year. I to think wait for the facts to come out before judging.. When he re signed they were both on TV swing how much they loved one another and looked pretty happy together distant look like she was in a relationship going through domestic violence or what ever so be interesting to hear more information... I know you can't always pick them but SKD has always struck me as an upstanding human being.
This whole fallout just seems a bit strange.

Really strange that these allegations from 6 months ago are only coming out now after they've broken up and are in financial negotiations.
That's not to say they didn't happen but it's strikes me as strange.Comment
