Is Robbo the latest version of Ricky Stuart??

I certainly hope not but they seem to be tracking on along the same path.

Both coaches were gifted a team full of super stars, with rising up and coming stars and established representative players, Grand final success in their first season, minor premierships, a game plan that worked for a couple of years.

However they also had their favourites

Ricky Stuart put all his faith in a clueless, average halfback in Brett Finch, the bloke could do no wrong, when the pressure was put on he often screwed up with the ball ending in in row z of the grandstand, so often that helmets were offered at games to protect fans.

Robbo is like this with Pearce, he seems to be able to do no wrong, has never been criticised, cannot win a tight game, his last tackle bomb options and his field goal kicking is no better than a 13 yr old, but like the Stuart / Finch era nothing changes, because the 2 coaches know that the 2 players in question have not got the brain capacity to change things up.

Throwing all your eggs in one basket is asking for trouble, it was the down fall of Stuart, it will be the down fall of Robbo.

It is either change things now or buy an Izzy Falou, Jarrod Hayne or SBW

Pearce has copped plenty of criticism in his career. And robbo has never protected him. If the halves dont play well he says so, and always has done. He may not mention him by name but tell me one decent coach who bags individuals in his team publicly. It doestnt happen. Those conversations are held behind closed doors, as it should be.

Robbo and stuart are chalk and cheese. I can guarantee you that players would far prefer to be coached by the calm and reasoned robbo than the loose cannon stuart.

Toops... rookie. Now an Origin grade winger.

RTS... rookie. Now an 800k a year star player.

Napa... kid. Now 18th man for QLD.

SST/Evans... already solid 1st grade players.

We lost to the Sharks by a conversion and 2 p!ss weak penalties. Cronulla have Fifita, Gallen, Lewis, Gordon, Heighington, Ennis...etc (add to that list Jack Bord, Valentine Holmes, Feki... there's some talent.) They aren't a smart team but they are tough!!!

IMO those who are saying this is the end of the world are doing exactly what we did during the game. They are DISRESPECTING THE COMPETITION!!!!! Sharks might not be good, but you can never discount a team with Fifita, Gallen and Lewis as being no competition.

Stuart came in with Fittler, Wing, Hodges, Ricketson, Morley, Fitzy and Fletchand Mullins all international and Origin players

We had up and comers and no names the likes of Mini, Diamond, Cayless, Cusak, Flannery, Crocker and Bonetti

Robbo came into first grade with Origin and international players tthe likes of Mini, Jennings, SKD, Pearce, JWH, FPN and Luke O Donnell, oh and one of the best players of the modern era SBW

And future stars Friend, Cordner, Guerra, RTS, Toops, Maubs

I truly hope i am wrong, however the simularities are uncanny, i hope Robbo has the kahunas to chnage things up, not player wise but game plan wise, Stuarts rushing defence was found out by the NRL and opposition combined, much ike our Bomb to the wings and the face ball to Cordner and Guerra, these tactics no longer work, our coach and play makers need to move on and make alternate plans, at the moment we are a very one dimensional footy team

Getting back to the topic

Robbo is not a clone....similar circumstances and results in the first 3 years so far, however, Robbo is a much more calm individual and to all the people who say Robbo won't chop and change after a loss. One week ago we flogged the Storm. So it makes sense to drop players after one poor performance. That would do well for the club and team morale. Pearce can frustrate the hell out of me but he is a solid first grader.

Further who do you suggest play halfback instead of Pearce...Hastings??, Cornish?? Lol!
