    Roosters hit 10,000
    28/04/2011 11:03:48 AM
The Sydney Roosters are proud to announce we have reached 10,000 Members for the first time in the club's history.

Michael Corrente signed himself and his two sons Johnathon and Nick as Members at Monday’s Anzac Day clash and Michael was officially awarded the title of 10,000th Member.

Mr Corrente has been a fan for five years and was keen to feel a part of the Roosters family

“I own a restaurant in the East and a majority of my customers are Members and I really love the club and so I wanted to support it and feel a part of it.”

There is no doubting the commitment of Michael, last year he attended every Roosters home game and all the finals matches.

To celebrate the milestone Jason Ryles presented Michael and his two sons with a Roosters branded 6.5Kg chocolate Easter egg.

Despite an indifferent start to the season Michael is confident the club will turn things around in 2011.

“We saw last year what we can do and there is still plenty of time this year so we will turn it around, we have too many good players not to.”

There is still time to become a Member so click here to join the Roosters family.

Big Mamas @ Moncur St Woollahra?

I reckon this is a big moment for the Club. I remember when the concept of Membership was foreign to AFL fans in the mid 90's and the Swans had a "Target 10'000" thermometer on the O'reilly stand and the thermometer was basically empty.

We need to start somewhere and this is a massive beginning for us.

Hopefully unlike the Swans at some point we get a vote on who is on the Footy Club board and a say in the running of things

Well done to all those who have put their money where their heart is in regards to the Roosters.
To reach 10,000 members in the face of the sh1t the team have been dishing up thus far in season 2011 is an achievement.

There is an obligation that comes with fandom, to live nd die with yhour teams fortunes and to keep them liquid with Membership, merchandise and involvement.

These 10,000 have recognised this but we need to get to 30 or 40 to be fair dinkum
