i think mini is trying too hard. i don't know, it is like he has this record hanging over his head and he is just trying to force a try.

he needs to really relax, see what is happening around him. the tries will come.

I don't think anyone is worried about the lack of tries. It is his inability to bust tackles, trying to be a playmaker when he is one of the worst passers in the NRL and running sideways.. The bottom line is age and injuries have caught up to him and in such an important position he no longer can perform at a standard required in a team with finals let alone premiership aspirations.

unfortunately trying just doesnt cut it anymore, especially in the key positions of the spine ie 1,6,7,9.. u just need to play smart

thats what i am getting at cockadoodledoo, he is getting too involved, trying to hard because this record is hanging over him. he will probably say that it does not play on his mind, but it is his chance to be the greatest try scorer at his one and only club.

Maybe it is the way smith is utilising him, but it seems tha he is focusing too much on scoring each time he gets the ball rather than making an effective play.

Did anyone notice that Mini wasn't in the way so much today - the same game that Carney was out? Are we carrying one too many playmakers/chiefs? I'm an unabashed fan of having three playmakers in our side, but having four is a big mistake. Sooner or later something - or someone - has to give out of Anasta, Pearce, Carney and Mini...

Well if we're hoping-not me yet- to get a new fullback, it ain't gonna happen this year so put up with it. As for getting someone from Newtown or the U20s...come on! It's already been tried unsuccessfully. When Mini was out injured all those times, how many from Newtown were given a chance and FAILED. Anasta went there, failed. Carney went there last year and a massive failure. The only one that had any talent to be in that critical position was Perrett who saved the club from many floggings in 09. He's not available ATM.

We've already introduced a few juniors like BJ & J Carney and it's shown that they are not ready for a position as critical as fullback.

So those anti Mini can name as many rookies as they like and whilst we are still in the running, there is no chance that Smith will put anyone else in there and I am satisfied with that because he is as good as we currently have.

It is ridiculous to think we can change a fullback at this stage of the comp.

I know what the purpose of the thread but to say they are untouchable is ridiculous. What else would you want Smith to do? Put Mini out because you and some others are no longer happy? As for Anasta and Pearce...we were all very happy with them last season so what has happened now? Is it just them? Where does Smiths tactics come to play in this? How about Carneys great effort and the whole team being the most un-discipline side in the comp? They are playing like shyte. The team win and lose as a team. When a team doesn't know what to do on the 6th, then where are the tactics that should have been practiced during the week? Who's at fault? Certainly not Mini.
