  • Nick, Noyce and Brian get it right

    http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/l...419-1dnk4.html

Hanging Todd out to dry is not the right thing, getting him help is.

I am very pleased that the club has come up with this option and I wish Todd all the very best in his treatment and recovery.

After all the rubbish of the past few days, I am glad that our club has stood up and done the right and proper thing.

It's all down to Todd Carney now. For him there is only one option. Let's hope he takes it.

Yep I think the club got it right in both cases. I'm happy that Carney has the chance to redeem himself, I just hope he can.

    Chook.

Agreed. The Club has handled this properly. Hopefully now Carney will as well.

        I agree.

But why aren't they getting "help" for Watts?

Because poor Todd has psychological issues.

The main 'psychological issues' Todd has is that he's under 25 and his brain is not yet fully developed [psychologists say]as to wise decisions and risk-taking, ...and like many, many young people just does stuff without any real thought attached as to consequences.

Young people just do stuff...ride on wheelie bins and crash into poles and kill themselves.

They just do stuff..."it seemed like a good idea at the time".

Scott Rush, age 19 when arrested, was talked into smuggling drugs from Indonesia.
He's waiting on death row for the day he'll be taken from his cell and shredded by the firing squad.
Other young people, some teenagers working life out by themselves, no responsible adult mentors, were also talked into it by Chan [also under 25], they're serving 20 year sentences.

Young people just do stuff, for no particular reason sometimes.
Whatever feels good at the time.

'The Banger Sisters' movie shows it all:

              Goldie Hawn
              Geoffrey Rush
              Susan Sarandon

Cost versus benefit analysis would answer your question JT. That and the scapegoat factor.

                Chook.

I don't think Anthony needs any boxing training.

He already worked with Jeff Fenech.

"Yeah, listen, youse gotta treat your women like a greengrocer, mate" was his advice.

Noyce said they are helping "Anthony and Shannon"...with counselling etc thru the special NRL program if either of them needs it, and his phone is on 24/7 if they need to speak to him about anything.

Can't do much more than that.
