  • Interesting Coach's View

Bumped into Des Hasler at the Mall on Thursday...said hello and asked him what he thought of the Grand Final...he said the Roosters got stitched up good and regardless who faced them the Dragons are perceived to be faultless and perfect by the refs and will win the penalty count every time...I told him thanks as it was good to hear that from another NRL coach and as a Roosters supporter I was still bitter that it was not a level playing field for a big final match like GF...he agreed they changed the match with their wrong calls...

I know it sounds like I'm still harping on it and must be bitter...

    I am...

This was a shot at Glory for our club and the players and I'll go to my grave grumbling about this...

    Thanks Foggy.

I couldn't agree more with your sentiments. If we lost on a level playing field I would be all smiles now. It's the WHAT IF that gets to me.

Yes they got some dodgey calls too but to say it evened out is a joke. If the penalty count at the 78th minute was 5-5 instead of 5-1 then I would say it evened out. They even baulked at the high shot on Friend but they couldn't let the game flow with that one

It is amazing that coaches and players are saying the same thing. Of course if they say it at any of the NRL conferences it would fall on deaf ears.

My 8 year old knows we were stitched up. Anybody could see it. But it is interesting to hear that a former international and premiership winning player and coach also thinks the same.
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

Well when they make it so blatantly obvious that the Dragons would be given as much help as possible to win the game, no one can deny what they saw happen. It's just a shame that it happened to our great club, team and supporters and of course Brian Smith.

I have to say I'm very surprised that Des would admit to such things. Just like you JT, I'm still bitter about the GF and I'm dreading running into a bunch of merge scum supporters on Sunday given the way they've behaved in the past.

Why would you be surprised ?

Bear in mind this is the coach that ripped off a door after his side got done In a game this year...alsohis side got done with the best forward pass I've seen ever to be missed end up a match winning try...

gotta love how stories evolve... "ripped off a door", he got up frustrated and slammed a door which subsequently fell off as it was fixed poorly.

Season set up for the Dragons . ****ing Farce

Finally got to watch the game again ( Was there ) on TV with edits etc, and you know , we got stiched up , we got FUCING STICHED UP !! those CIUNTS

The entire season has been a Stich for St George, the NRL had to have an all sydney final, and they wanted to get these ****s over the line

Just take a look at the season

St Geroge didnt have one game in the early season heat

They had all Friday night games, giving them heaps of rest time

Suddenly they find a way to get Gaz back under the Cap ??

They got rid of Melbourne as their No 1 threat

They had minimal rep game exposure

They get the best refs ( If thst what you can call them ) for nearly every game

And that ****ing Grand Final was a joke , we had 7 questionable calls go against us and 2 Calls for the Saints

Smithy was right to blow up, listening to the Fox call with Brandy ( who in my opinion is the best and fairest game caller in the game ) Warren Smith and the Nose were even embarrased for us , and 2 of these things are not Rooster supporters ?

Mate it was a ****ing Farce, makes me want to shove the game up Gallops arse.

Why we have to win games twice has got me ****ed , we always seem to get the each-way calls against us.

                  **** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And on the Fox coverage, Warren Smith says that the Young try in the GF was as big a cock up.

Yes. But we will never hear of it again.

Firstly Fog, apologies for calling you JT in my original post.

I'm surprised because I have assumed he doesn't know you from a bar of soap and saying such things are a bit controversial for a man in his position.
