  • Phil Graham

Is an out and out centre these days, he is not even a makeshift winger.

I know that last bomb came of the back off Ferguson but it just showed how inept he is under the high ball. Forget how non-existent he is in attack from the wing he is a liability in defence surely teams will start to figure this out soon.

He was awesome at the start of the season at centre so put him back there Smithy, little changes like this are needed to spark the team back into action.

I know he switched with Ford at times but he needs to be given that role for the whole 80...

I hope we sign Ferguson, Graham hasn't convinced me on the wing, and the only younger wingers who have been impressive this season (Kheirallah and Manton) are very small and would be defensive liabilities.

Have Graham, Linnett, Leilua (if he isn't in the backrow), and Blair fighting it out for the one centre spot.

    1. Minichiello
    2. Perrett
    3. Kenny-Dowall
    4. (open centre spot)
    5. Ferguson
    6. Carney
    7. Pearce

i dont think his positioning and high ball ability are his weaknesses at all on the wing tbh. do you not remember last week? every kick was a cross field bomb to graham and he defused every one. my criticism of him is not his consistency or defence but his involvement. his runs lack any purpose or penetration and he tends to drift out of games very easily and lacks the involvement of the rest of our backline. i think you are being harsh to criticise his defence - he has done a great job on the wing for that reason that is why smith kept him there and didnt move him into the centres last night - naugton or towers or even one of the youngsters could have just as easily come onto the wing. it was a conscious decision

Graham is ordinary, just once i would like him to run into a hole instead of 3 defenders

What else does Linnett have to do to guarantee himself of one of the centre positions.

Let's cut to the chase. Graham's strength was always his pace, he has lost a fair bit with injuries and age. He would be probably the 4th best Centre behind SKD, Linnett and BJ and is no longer a winger.. the reality is he should be shipped off to the UK at seasons end.

Yeh agree with most of what you said, his general defence has always been good but I'm not as convinced with you under the high ball. Remember that try against the Eels which he scored from that Linnett break... he looks far from comfortable under the contested high balls.

I don't think his workrate is necessary either, he just provides us with an attacking option similar to what Lyon does for the Eagles and Inglis for the Storm. Neither have huge workrates and although granted he's not in the same league as the two players I just mentioned he can play the same role...

With the minor exception that they can break tackles and he can't.

He is a passenger. People blame Pearce for passing it... Graham should have caught that no questions asked. Any NRL standard footballer will take that pass, score, and put us in a good position to win the game.

That run he did was the only break I can recall him making this season. Can find his way to the line, and do nothing else. Runs soft, his defence is questionable, and his work under the high ball is poor.

                  Bye bye, Phil.

Graeme will be a valuable depth player for us next year. We lost Linnett and we had to bring in Ford and were ready to play one of our best backrowers there if he wasn't injured.

Our first choice next year will be:
                    1/ Mini
                    2/ Carney/Ferguson?
                    3/ Linnett
                    4/ SKD
                    5/ Perrett

Graeme was also brought from Canberra to look after Carney. I'm sure I read somewhere that they live together.

I've never thought of it that way but it's very likely, and i can't wait until someone is ready to take Phil's position because imo Phil is the biggest liability/waste of space in our backline.

And if he scores the match winning try against Gold Coast, everyone will be falling over themselves to praise him. Pearce screwed that try, not Graham.

I think Pearce was worried about an obstruction that probably would've gone against him, especially considering the refs will do anything to prevent us from winning games, if he'd played on, so in my opinion Graham ****ed up that sitter of a try, and if he does score the match winner against the Tits or anyone else for that matter, GOOD that's his ****ing job for crying out loud, and no, it won't change my opinion of him.

                            What rubbish.

He could have scored himself, but gave the pass to ensure we'd go over. Graham should have caught that ball.

I won't fall over myself to praise him, because he's a passenger.

Graham should of made that play, it wasn't very hard.

Graham was only a short term fix for us. That's why we have signed J. Carney and are trying to sign Ferguson.

I wan't sure about Ferguson but I like what I have seen from him lately. I hope we sign him.
