  • JWH & Conn

In my opinion were our best forwards today.

JWH is progressing really well and took some really inspirational hit-ups today.

With Myles quiet and Masoe missing, he stood up and ate metres(dragging 2-3 defenders with him).

Conn(will get a better write-up in the coming weeks) is just about our best bench player.

Today, like every game he plays in, he put his head down and pumped the legs. His offloads from memory started two of our tries. Resign him immediately.

Correct weight.. JWH's hitups were always crossing the advantage line. I got the impression he wasn't really sure how to use his size properly when hitting the ball up in previous weeks but he just put the head down and ran hard. Conn was great, a real quiet achiever and surprised me with his offloading ability.. A great player to have on the bench.

How good was conn's offload in carney's first try. 3 players tackling him and still get's a perfect ball to friend!!

I noticed JWH was also popping up a little wider on a fair few of his hitups today as well, gained good yards every time he did that.

Conn was great, I'm pretty sure he offloaded whilst being tackled by 3 dogs twice.......that is simply brilliant.

Ryles toiled hard all day but you're 100% right their impact of the bench today was crucial.

Hargeaves when the situation got hostile just lifted to a whole new level, Mr Badger woke a sleeping giant.

Conn was immense, strong carries and like you mentioned some very good second phase play.

This leaves the issue. When everyone is fit, who will miss out, out of Conn, Kennedy and Masoe?

I'd be keeping Leilua on the wing to add a bit of size too. With him out there, I think Linnett could use a short spell back in NSW Cup again. Graham, for his shortcomings, has experience that Linnett lacks at times.

Yeh he played 2nd row when Kennedy was on, I still think it's his best position. He's got an offload in him to boot which we're yet to see because he's been playing up front.

Tough call but for me Kennedy. Masoe gives the forwards some intimidation factor with his size and powerful hitups.. Kennedy doesn't offer anything that Ryles or Conn don't do but better.. Not saying he isn't good but for me he is the one that would miss out.

I would put Masoe and Conn ahead of kennedy.

                      It's where I prefer him as well;

4 prop rotation of Myles, Ryles, Masoe and Kennedy for me. (Conn as the 5th if req)

JWH and FPN can interchange with each other and be used purely for flat out impact down one side of the field for x minutes each, Maubs and Braith to play 80 to fill the rest of the pack.

                      8. Ryles
                      9. Friend
                      10. Myles
                      11. FPN
                      12. MAubs
                      13. Braith

                      14. Masoe
                      15. Kennedy/Conn
                      16. JWH
                      17. Utility/extra prop (Kennedy/Conn)

Daniel Conn plays 15 kilos above his weight, has a massive ticker, his new nic should be Phar Lap.

                          Chook.

Yes this would be the pack I would pick IMO. I would still have Koops on the bench as cover for hooker if required, but the rest is good. I like Conn and Kennedy fighting for a spot as that extra grafter off the bench. And what is good is, even if Braith does leave at the end of this year, we have a fair few perfectly capable backrowers in Guerra, Cherrington and Symonds, as well as youngsters Cordner, Lowe and Leilua who could push for the lock spot too.

I REALLY hope we re-sign Kennedy though. His potential is impressing me a great deal.

JWH was fantastic yesterday and is finally beginning to deliver on his potential.
Conn, what can I say, played his heart out and contributed to that win with some key offloads and strong runs.
