I would have hoped Symonds was atleast in the 18. Hopefully a late change.

no surprise after monday nights red hot performance. In saying that i wuouldnt mind seeing symonds given a go at 18 rather than Jaubs.

I rate symonds also but based on last nights game who's spot does he take?

On form Guerra would be in front of him

I imagine the club have a rehab strategy in place for Symonds..

A hyper-extention of the knee is a very tricky injury..

The knee needs to be stabilised, then rested..which leads to muscle wastage..

The medical staff would be working on strengthening the knee through weights & physio..Don't think they will take any risks with him after 2 knee injuries in 2 years..

We will probably see a more robust Symonds when he is next selected in 1st grade..

Plus i have a sneaking suspicion Brian Smith see's Tom as filling an almost identical role to Maubs..& 2 don't go into 1 in my 'rithmatic..

Agreed. Smith has got his machine-like workhorse (Myles) and his explosive backrower who can pop a pass (FPN) - that leaves one spot for Maubs or Symonds.

When fully fit, I would expect Symonds to get the bench spot ahead of BJ though.

I think Symonds would offer more than SKD out in the centres. Can run a good line and much more solid in defense. Has played 5/8 and would also offer more crativity in attack.

I would bring Symonds into the centres to replace Graham.

I don't know about that... Symonds has been playing as a back rower. On top of that Graham has been going really well.

As expected - and now to face the dreaded short turnaround, ughhhhhhhhh.

Sharks at home, if we start solid and carry some of that form into the game, we should put some on them.

I'd like to see Tom Symonds named on an extended bench. He has been going well at Newtown and I'd imagine it'd be sooner rather than later until we see him running around in the NRL again.

ideally, symonds and leilua named in the starting centres/backrow to play together as both can play centre and backrow capably so they can almost swap and interchange. defensively it would be rock solid and in attack we would have plenty of flair as they complement each other quite well as well as making it a good transition for both of them into the first grade side and pack.

Only issue is which centre do you displace. graham has been consistent and was very impressive last night whilst skd though proned to some brain explosions and absolute howlers, has a potential to like no other to bust tackles, find the line and is combining quite well with maubs down the right as quite a strong attacking combination and even defensively when you throw pearce is they are doing quite a strong job. This leaves carney, pez and mini. none of the 3 will or should be dropped as such so either carney to 5/8, braith to forwards accomodating graham onto the wing and the symonds/leilua backrow/centre pairing or god knows what. for next year at least that could be quite a good plan. with du plessis and blair coming through and SKD showing potential along with linnet, maybe signing a genuine strike weapon winger like uate and a top draw fullback like dugan affords us not having to splash the cash on someone like inglis in the centres

unless we have injuries our current centres should remain, yes even skid! so i dont know where we can fit symmonds in except the bench? so he could cover the backs and forwards just as jones and bj can do! a team of multi skillers!
