If I was B Smith or Mack (which i am not) this would be my team (assuming all are available)

    1. Perrett ( carney has no kick return game and belongs at 6)
    2. mini
    3. Williamson or another young centre (give them a crack)
    4. SKD (you know I think he goes alright. Certainly is a great ball runner)
    5. Graham (isnt doing much in the centres)
    6. Carney (where he belongs and can touch the ball more)
    7. Pearce
    13. Braith (However no passing unless it is an offload and no kicking)
    12. Myles (Lock, second rower not much difference these days)
    11. Maubs
    10. JWH (Must start)
    9. Brunton (I like the look of him. Tough and will get better with experience)
    8. Ryles (he must start as well)

    14. FPN (on his last chance but have seen glimpses and work ethic is ok)
    15. Kennedy (he just needs games)
    16. Symonds
    17. Jaubs

No Koopafarwhit. Conn is unlucky. Guerra has played one good game all year.

Good looking side. Disagree on Guerra, I think he works hard and runs well although he has been quiet recently after a good start. Front row looks great without Paea, FPN and *shudder* Kouparitsis.

Might give Friend a start ahead of Brunton although I like Brunton a lot - good passer and got through a tonne of defensive work for a skinny bloke.

I like the look of that side to, Tho i must admitt Ide prefer to see mini at fullback before perrett. Atleast give him a few games there. Heill do better then on the wing where he obviously doesent belong at the moment, I still have faith in him.

Despite his current form, Mini playing at fullback would probably be a good thing. At least it'll remove the need for his crappy dummy half runs.

JWH isn't fit enough to start yet, he'll get caught out in the first 15 min, maybe in a month.
Ryles - too slow for the first 15 min, he'll get caught, he's going good off the bench

It seems everyone agrees Carney should be in the halves. What is his kicking game like?

                Second best behind Pearce's.

He takes kicks for touch so he must have a fair kicking game.

JWH is in his own world - and i wasnt as nervous when mini slotted in a FB against the raiders.

Also reckon Michael Luck would complete this team - is looking for a contract, a cheap buy with a big heart, will only come off if you bandage him up, 1st player to crack 70 tackles in the nrl, is recognised as the warrior in the warriors by the warrior fans, and alway sports a mohawk of blood streaming down his blond hair which seems to suggest maybe he wants in

I would love a Micheal luck type forward in our pack, he is the Bonetti of backrowers

kicking for touch is not any sort of indication of kicking ability. Most of our forwards could do that job.

Well they aren't going to give the job to a weak kicker, so he must be okay.

In terms of gaining distance on punt kicks, evidently Smith thinks Carney is best. That's a fair indication of kicking ability.

I think the sight of a forward taking the kick for touch was more of a deterrent than the ability.

Carney was a sensational kicker in his times at Canberra. I think in 2008 he was one of the leading 40/20 kickers before his problems.

Here are some stats I found up to 2007 which indicates he was Canberra's main kicker. I don't think his kicking will be a problem. I think if Anasta is our general play kicker would be more of a concern.....actually if Koups decides to take it upon himself to kick again would be the biggest concern.
