  • Forget Soward

Every thread I see people talking about our team monstering Soward and stopping Soward.

Let me put some perspective in this for you.

    Forget Soward.

Our problem will be stopping the Dragons forwards. We stop them and Soward wont even be seen. He'll have a ring of them protecting his kicking game, we wont get close to smashing him - UNLESS we move fast in a line and smash the forwards. Kick chase will be pivotal. Kick deep and hammer their fullback and Wingers on the kick returns. Smash their pack and Soward wont feature. Target Soward alone, and we will get drilled by 40 points or more.

Not easy to forget- people absolutely hate him.

But I have a good feeling about this game. It all depends on how Carney is travelling for mine.

I agree Melon. Each time we play the merge I want this ****er to get smashed but he rips us a new one because his forwards dominate. Smash their forwards and Soward will go into hiding

Soward to setup at least two tries that ricochet of roosters players heads into the arms of Morris.

Dragons have shown this season, they are dangerous off set plays. The only way they can put on a set play, is if they have the time and space to execute. Which comes down to their forwards getting the yards, getting the quick play the balls and giving the backs time and space

Shut down their pack, and you shut down their attack

                Yeh well said Melon.

Soward will be playing is his dinner suit as usual. Defending at centre or wing and kicking behind the usual 5 or 6 players. He is the biggest myth in footy.

Everything the merge does is off the back of their forwards. If we can just match them up front I think unlike other years we have the points in us to beat them.

I have no doubt it will be a very tough game for us but I can't wait till Sunday.

As long as Dragon Morris doesn't do what Bulldog Morris did to SKD.

The only chance we have is if ALL our forwards aim up for 80 minutes and Carney plays. Both 50/50.

Whoevers forwards step up will win this. If the forwards hold their own, backs will do the rest. Holds true for both sides.

can't be bothered getting into yet another Soward thread, but fair dinkum...

he left this club, and subsequently improved out of sight

and now he regularly slaughters us

                      and he's a myth?

The 2nd game we played against them last year we held our own till half time. If memory serves me correctly we may have even led 12-6 at the break before doing our usual fade out. As stated by most, its the forwards where it will be won and lost. We need to have a good completion rate and put Saints under pressure getting out of their own half. This game is all about credibility. Whenever we've been put under the pump to date we've folded like a pack of cards. We need to hang tough and stay in the battle for as long as possible. If we're within a try with 10 to go then we've got enough strike in us this year to get over the line.

I don't think we are at the stage where we are mentally tough enough to grind out a win. If we get to a good start, we can go on with it. Conversely, if we are behind early, we'll fold - and it will be a big loss. Big win or big loss. I hope its the former

I know, thats why I said this game is all about our credibility as a football team. I'm like you, I hope we win, but I'm not confident.

Soward has always had fark all to offer other than a pin point kicking game and pace over the first 30 metres...

any other 5/8 behind a pack like that of Illawarra's would be destroying teams.

He will melt when finals football is on...

Mistakes and their forwards will kill us on Sunday
