There has been an unconfirmed report that Merrin has signed with the Manly club this morning, for season 2016 and beyond. If this is true, I wont be too upset, while he is a solid player, he was asking way too much money, for what he brings to the table, we have ample players of his ability in the club, and need to keep our powder dry, for a gun prop, should one become available.

Because he spends more time running blocks for his centres and hiding out on the wing then doing work like a man of his size should. No doubt he has ability and x factor or whatever you want to call it but his work rate isn't enough for me.

For a young guy he seems to have warmed nicely to that middle third task in recent months. I am with you tho I don't want for the absolute overs we would pay for him.

The kid averaged 200m+ in the 20's, averaged over 100m a game in his first full season in First Grade & over 100m in his debut International season.

Not at all interested in his 20s stats as he was a giant amongst boys. He did have a good four nations season and I'm surprised by averaging over 100m in first grade this year. I watched all the cows games closely this year and wouldn't have thought so. Like I said he has the x factor but for the money he'd cost I really don't think we need him and I'd prefer a workaholic like merrin.

Merrin imo is a good fit with our pack he shines in a crap side with no pack he is a bit of an offload king which is gold, its about 2nd phase play where the damage is done. lolo is awesome too seems weak in defence to me doesnt have the same motor as merrin 2 diff players but i am sure he will sort that, either of them at the right price.
