Any chances that SBW had a quiet word with Hayne yesterday at that media conference about the fullback vacancy at the Roosters next year? Just putting it out there.
Yeah as good as he is, I don't think anybody is worth 1/4 of your salary cap.
In my view there's a 250-500k fullback out there who won't be as good as Hayne but with proper coaching and their head in the right place can have a blinder of a season and provide the punch (or structure/defence or whatever) we need in our backline.
Hayne is the Eels' single hero. He's a once in a generation player who is worth a million. However, I prefer having a mixture of guys like Mcdonald, Napa, Evans, Lui, Tupou, Moa...etc who aren't on huge salaries but get the job done rather than one star who has to carry the team.

About as good a chance as Turk posting a sensible thread.
No thanks to Hayne - too injury prone and seems to have a delicate disposition poor love. Note how while nearly every SOO player backed up for his club after Origins this year (barring serious injury), Hayne was 'rested' for at least 2 of the 3. And those games he was 'rested' may mean the difference between Parra making the 8 or not, as from memory they lost them.
I want players who are so determined to play with their team mates and win games for their club they refuse to be rested unless seriously injured. You don't win premierships with your marquee players sitting on the sidelines resting.
Parra can pay the bloke $1m plus a year and let him sit out games to tend his bumps and bruises.
