Mini's Defence

I have loved Mini for many years and he is a Roosters great, but can we carry a fullback who's defence is getting worse every week. Any average Fullback would have prevented at least two of the Dragons tries today, and he was disgraceful last week as well.He brings great hands under bombs in defence, and maybe some defence organisation to the team, but we need a lot more from him if we are going to compete in this years premiership.

i agree with you to an extent... he misses some shockers Ala Marshall tonight but he wrapped up merrin wonderfully. I think his improved from last year. Though you are partially correct, his diving technique is poor. But mini is VITAL to our defense - organizes well, and communicates well

Mini was outstanding. Couldn't really blame him for any of there tries tonight. Did you actually watch the game tonight??

i actually think his attacking game has improved massively. he bends the line more and his breaking tackles comfortably. Also has a nice zig zag sorta step going on... Well done mini

Judging by how well we went in the 2nd half against the Sharks without him I'd say he'd be closer to the top of our most important.. Macdonald had a shocker in that game and RTS isn't up to it at this stage unfortunately

We saw how much we missed him when he was out in the 2nd half against Sharks. He does miss tackles every now and then but his positioning, bomb-taking and off the ball work and communication makes up for it.

That is bloody funny JT. Very diplomatic mate 😁 Im not a Mini bagger. I think he is a champ and legend. But at times his defence is diabolical. His miss on Benji tonight was disgraceful.

It's no worse though now than any time in his career.. He will pull off same amazing tackles and other times he would get swatted by a fly.

Kurt I love Mini. But maybe you were not watching when he was asked to make a standard legs tackle on Benji, who then strolled over. Missed it badly. A tackle the vast majority of fullbacks would have made. His defence has always been poor IMO. This yr I actually think he has improved in that area but tonights miss was terrible.

Its funny .... Bunji ran through 3 or 4 players before reaching the fullback ...yet only Mini is picked at fault.
It wasn't a good attempted tackle by Mini, but neither were the other 3 or 4 misses !

I was watching when he strolled past about 3 other defenders, which you haven't mentioned, before he got to Mini.
