There was quite a few people screaming out to security to defuse the situation at the time I was still in shock that we lost the game and my mate and I were busy telling golden bubbler jokes to try and lighten a pretty dark mood., I didn't realise what was unfolding behind me.

When I turned around I thought it was probably some Sharks taunting and provoking some angry Chooks. To my dismay, it was Chooks against Chooks going feral and as RWB said it could have ended up being very very nasty. It was very shameful behaviour!!!!!!!

We certainly have some of the durge of society supporting us if the comments I was subjected to as I headed to the Dolphin after the game by a bunch of dickheads in rooster jerseys is anything to go by.

There's very disappointing and totally unacceptable that you had to cop that. I have always thought Easts fans are better than that.

So did I, obviously I wasn't in a rooster jersey as I doubt they would have said it otherwise but I really was quite disgusted by it. I used to think this whole 'women turning away from league' was such a beat up but I can really see it now. I've been following the chooks for 20 years since basically kindergarten and I'm really now starting to get a bad taste in my mouth about so many aspects of the game.

Yes I was with rwb when the altercation started almost in front of us...and the concern was that if it had blown up further there was a risk of innocent parties getting knocked over with the tiered seating structure.

The other part as mentioned was the lengthy delay before any security arrived. There was plenty of time for someone to get hurt.

Im a regular racegoer too and if someone even appears to be slightly inebriated or loud they are swarmed by security and quickly marched out and their mates too. Obvious over reactions there but there needs to be a happy medium when it cones to crowd control.

There is a lot of criticism from Sydney Roosters fans about the behavior of fans from certain teams such as the South Sydney Rabbitohs or the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs but I have encountered a lot of the same behavior from our own fans unfortunately and particularly at away matches. I am not sure why but unfortunately sports fans can often turn in to animals while watching their favourite team play.

That just makes me sad Holly. I'm nearly 20 years older than you but I can relate to everything you've posted. This season has made me feel jaded too. And it's damned if you do and damned if you don't by the sounds of things in regards to what we wear to games. I did wear my hoodie and scarf last night and it just gave some men license to say stupid things to me both on the way to the stadium and on the way out when I was standing at the bus stop in front of the Paddo RSL.

When I was leaving the Swans match the other week to go back to the car to get changed into my Roosters gear there were 3 guys wearing Roosters jerseys near the bus road who were abusing every Swans supporter walking past, it wasn't good natured banter it was just plain disgusting and uncalled for comments, I felt embarrassed being a Roosters fan.
