The Panthers v Knights game was so fast [the players resembled wind up toys] that the players didn't seem to have time to watch or think...BJ gave a perfect pass, to a Knights player.Originally posted by turk-283 View PostNRL touch footy not your thing?
Boyd did a hamstring trying to make metres while held in a tackle by big Panthers players.
Lightning pace, mistakes galore...absolutely no ball control.

It suits Souffs perfectly.
I paid close attention to a Robbo comment after last weeks game ... something along the lines of ...
"They drop to the ground for the play the ball very quickly after contact."
I mean GI basically extends his arm out like touch then plays the ball. It's pathetic.
So they're utilising the new rules very well, more so than last year based on week 1.

Give it time for the coaches and players to learn how best to exploit the new rules. I'm sure Trenticles will be on the case as we type.
And for the Reffs to settle and loosen their early season authority trips. They always like to exert their power early in the year.
I'm waiting till round 8-10 to determine form and the new rules and what 2014 really holds.

You know it makes sense.

We need to work it all out in the next few days.Originally posted by stsae View PostGive it time for the coaches and players to learn how best to exploit the new rules. I'm sure Trenticles will be on the case as we type.

If it takes us til round 8-10 it could all be over by then.
They changed the rules to negate our defence, so we can't beat their pet teams again...and hold teams scoreless like last year....IMO.
If the refs don't change, the crowds will keep right on shrinking.Last edited by bondi-boy; 03-11-2014, 09:00 PM.

The penalty rule change was brought in to stop our goal line defence ploy but the three man tackle rule change was brought to stop teams like a Storm and Souths from slowing the ruck area down. Souths were the masters of the three man tackle but as their luck would have it, they are benefiting from the consequence of the rule change. Their big forwards are difficult to dominate in one and two man tackles, they are able to stand in tackles and get quick play the balls giving them great momentum.Originally posted by bondi-boy View PostWe need to work it all out in the next few days.

The AFL has two rules - don't deliberately injure players and don't call them primates, those are rules I can follow.
This actual pile of faeces that the NRL has pulled out of their collective rectal passages is a detriment to the game and they expect us to be Veronica Moser and enjoy it.
Screw that noise.
In protest, I'm not watching on Saturday night.SUPER DRAGON!

After Gallen gave the NRL bosses a giant spray in the news last night...today has been all about how crappy RL is and how wonderful AFL and the A League Soccer are.
The NRL's new ad copped a battering on talkback racio today.
Last night's tv and today's radio was also about how ridiculous it was for Roosters and Souths to be playing at ANZ.
