Text from a Souths supporter I just received.

A bloke I follow on Twitter is a sports bookmaker & he was saying same as you about refs & Souths. I asked him to explain further & he said:
"A case of NRL favouring certain teams to reach the grand final. Secret directives given & refs in the know earn on the side."

Interesting. Seems like us guys on the Chookpen aren't the only one's who feel there is something fishy going on.

It wouldnt b hard to do....Tonight all they had to do was give the feedback early in the week that they feel the Storm are getting too many wrestling penalties. Next week they might say the Roosters are giving away penalties to slow play we wont have this, refs primed and ready to sin bin.

I am sure the NRL would give feedback and direction in how the game is reff'd 100%

How was that moment in the first half when the Souths 3/4 was dragged 5 metres into the in goal, 1-on-1, forcing the dropout - only to be awarded then pen, and then in the second half Hoffman gets dragged over the sideline - like 15 metres - with 4 guys in the tackle and its play on?!!

I thought the game was extremely fair because it was the 2 favoured teams against each other.

If anything it proved to me how bland they both are without help. E.g. Slater/Bellyache didn't rule on the "try" the refs stood up and said "you can't interfere with a player without the ball this week you cheats!!" Against us that would probably have been a try with us being told "he wouldn't have won the contest anyway, do you know who BILLY SLATER is?!?!?"

There's no conspiracy (that's all BS) but it's great to see the drizzle whinging!!!

Slater should have been awarded that second try. Melbourne would have come home with a wet sail but yet again the refs got it wrong.

Agreed. That was a try for sure. The Melbourne guy was going for the ball and got knocked off balance by the Souths guy standing as interference.
