Maybe I'm speaking out of place and these were needed to ease salary cap pressure but I think we've really struggled when we've had more than 3 of our starting pack out due to injury or suspension.
Any side will struggle when 3 or more of their staring pack are unavailable

Tasi & Takarangi weren't "pushed" they "jumped". Both asked for releases as they got contracts offering them a regular FG spot starting from this year.Originally posted by Rooster_6 View PostRobbo is a bit of a protected species on here so don't know how well this will go down and I'm a huge fan of his but I really think he's stuffed us up quite a bit this season by releasing a lot of depth players.

They were told we dont need them from next year but both got opportunities this year. Club did the right thing by them by letting them go.
Am not sure about Mose and Symonds though.

Masoe and BJ were released to fit in Jennings, we can't really complain about that.Originally posted by Rooster_6 View PostRobbo is a bit of a protected species on here so don't know how well this will go down and I'm a huge fan of his but I really think he's stuffed us up quite a bit this season by releasing a lot of depth players.

Taka and Symonds to get LOD. For the record I like both Taka and Symonds but we have some pretty good edge forwards. And we needed LOD's toughness and experience this year, he has been very good.
Tasi being released meant we were able to play Napa for the rest of the year.
At the moment we have Cordner, Kennedy, LOD, RTS, Moga, Oldfield, Evans and Bosden injured or suspended. Yes some of those guys aren't in our best 17 but they are our depth. For example by not having Moga or Oldfield fit this week means we are forced to play Maubs in the backs which then effects the forwards.
I can't blame Robbo for the decisions he has made we have just run into some bad luck at the moment. Fingers crossed we can get a few boys backs for the finals.

I think our depth in comparison to other clubs is way too green or just not good enough.
I think Robbo had limited say in what players we could keep due to salary cap pressure so I'm not going to criticise him too much but it's definitely an area that needs addressing next season.

It's actually very rare to see Souths kick to a contest on the wing, Reynolds generally tries to land his cross field kicks in between the defending halfback/5-8 and the second rower with Inglis or Mcqueen coming through to make it a contest. It's where they had so much success against us in Round 1.Originally posted by Roosterman 02-forever View PostI think we'll see a repeat of rd 1 and the game against the storm. Lots of bombs comin at ya, SKD.
I hope Guerra & SBW have been practicing bomb defusal this week, both are quite tall men and athletic so it'll be interesting to see if Souths continue with this tactic but I'm sure they'll try it at some stage throughout the game.

Friend could stay on and play back row if needed with Morts at dummy half for a stint.Originally posted by fletch View Postour bench of Mortimer/Napa/Liu/Arona is really scary, we might be competitive for 55 minutes when our starters are on the field but what happens when Friend/JWH/Moa/FPN are sitting on the bench for 25 minutes either side of half time.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

FPN post contract extension provides as little an impact as Kegs provides kilo's. And lets face it, he's not losing weight any time soon.Originally posted by Rooster_6 View PostYeh it wouldn't be a bad ploy, I definitely think we need one of FPN or Moa coming off the bench for some impact.
FPN will never be an impact player.
