  • Noticeably missing

LOD's stiffness in defence in the middle . They made far too much ground and we failed to put them down which led to plenty of 2nd phase play which caused our defence to look defragmented.

Lessons will be learnt from tonight's game, and we can only get better. However I'm concerned about the quality of the refereeing against and the blatant bias was evident with that last drop out and the knock on! I'm fkn disgusted by those so called professionals.

It looked like a knock-on for all money, to me. Correct decision. I don't know why those commentators thought it wasn't a knock on.

Question is why didn't the ref blow the whistle? If the player hadn't given it away they would have given the raiders the last set of the game

Looked like a clear knock back to me. By about a metre.

Watch it again, he was facing sideways hits his back hand, has be a knock on. the ball then bounces backwards after it hits the ground.

LOD and Mini for sure, i know it's only been one game for RTS but he looked lost at FB, we missed his work on the wing alot, but with the postitional changes and missing personnel it was always going to be one of those games. I suprised myself during the game hoping the club re-signs Mini for next year.

You can't substitute enthusiasm for experience all the time.

Raiders play their game with quick dummy half runs up the middle.
Milford is dangerous and their second phase play killed us tonight. I don't mind that though, because their game plan doesn't win grand finals; our game plan does.

It's not just LOD imo who was missed tonight. It's a group of players who are out injured mixed in with a lack of depth.

Consider this, for a large period of the game we were playing with a middle third of Arona, Liu & Napa. Guerra wasn't available because he was covering the 2nd row injuries, Maubs wasn't available because he was covering the outside backs & Kennedy and LOD were out injured. Our middle third coming off the the bench is usually Moa, Guerra/Aubs & Kennedy. That's far more established and proven than what we ran with tonight. Napa & Arona are 7th and 8th choice front rowers usually.

Then there's our second rowers, Maubs wasn't available because he was covering in the centres, SBW was suspended and Cordner got injured early in the second half. For a large part of the game we ran with Guerra & FPN who are middle third players and probably 4th and 7th choice 2nd rowers at the club.

Moga and Oldfield who were supposed to provide the depth for us in the three-quarters this year are both out injured which meant we had to improvise a little pushing SKD back to the wing which he hasn't played full time since 2009 and Maubs back into the centres.

They're little changes in isolation but they all add up. We've dealt well with injuries/unavailability to key players thus far this season but tonight was almost a new team. It's not a dig at the players who came in, they performed admirably but it's unrealistic to think that we would still maintain the same cohesion & combinations that we've displayed all season with so many role and personnel changes.

Napa was solid taking it forward against a massive pack.

So was Arona for that matter.

The missing players were missed, but the rest of the team seem to be off their game more than the replacements.

                        Chook.

yes it was evident key players were missing last night, for all minis foibles i usually feel safe with him at the back unless he has to bend down? and lod showed his worth by the lack of grunt up the middle last night, sbw back will add further class back to this side, the penalties we've come to expect but its become criminal now and i would be happy if tr he refs were investigated for links to betting etc..

I reckon you would see it differently if it was easts dropping that ball.

raiders bother us more than some teams due to their desire to throw the ball and play ad-lib type of footy. And that blake owned maubs last night, and milford is very nimble.
