  • Beaver Cordner

After under 20's at Dudley Magpies I had to jump to Central Charlestown Butcher Boys open grade. I was a spindly winger skinnier than a minute to six and I had to tackle ex- first graders like Steve Fulmer and Sam Stewart. I was shit scared. On kick returns the forwards would always say "take a shit". Which meant take a hit-up to relieve the forwards even though you were destined to get smashed. This is what I love about Beaver Cordner. For 90% of the game he "takes a shit" but for the remaining 10% he runs the most beautiful lines and is scoring tries like the greatest try scoring 2nd rower of all-time Beaver Menzies.

I thought Cordner was our best tonight. The yards he makes coming out of our own end are incredible. He has great leg speed. His defence is top notch and as you say he runs great lines with even greater determination. I would love to know how many metres he ran for last night.

and isn't Boyd playing this year with a chronic shoulder problem that needs surgery ?
Seem to recall before round 1 we were told he needs surgery, but will put it on hold till the end of 2013 season and play the entire year with a bung shoulder ...... imagine how good he'd go at 100% fitness ?

I remember people floating that rumor around here. Doesn't look like it's taken it toll on him, that's for sure (touch wood).

Guerra had a huge game last night as well. Very dangerous footwork.
          Comment of the year:

the way he softens (tenderises) them up before the kill

those minutes in origin have transformed him to dominance in all he does

our support playing strenth is top notch and must be really ping off the competition who feel we must be well over the cap! the club has assembled the best possiblew mix of players for all occasions and positions all on reasonable pay all working with oneanother not against all with a common goal, to win it!

Screw calling him Beaver, his nickname should be "Fitzy." The man embodies the same endurance, heart and passion for the Roosters as Craig Fitzgibbon. And he should be give the same honour as befell Fitzy, that of being named Captain, when he's old enough.

JWH, Cordner Co-captain system. At least one of them will be on the park at any time during the 80 minutes.

Perfect choice D-Man. The two men bleed red, white and blue and would be a worthy replacement for Mini, another who has the Roosters burned into his soul, when he retires.

If mini does re-sign for another year, who here thinks he will remain as captain for next year??????
