Been a lot of talk about who will be the halves but we'll only have one game where Pearce, Maloney & Jeninngs aren't available for club selection which is against the Bulldogs (assuming they get picked for all 3 games). Robbo made mention that Morts & Langi are ready to step up in his press conference last night but this is just an oversight or do you reckon he's planning on resting some of the boys given it's a 2 day turn around after origin 1 given we play on the Friday night...

We play the eels actually, so we could have Tonie Carroll and Kevin Rudd in the halves and still win.

They will be available vs Eels. Bulldogs RD15 is the only one they won't be available for.

In the long run this may not be such a bad idea.

We play the Eels 2 days after SOO?

I agree. Morts and Langi will have a good 10 day prep with the team and hopefully the entire team will be ready to rip in after the Melbourne game. I think we are well positioned to do what we can to make sure all boys are freshened up for the run home.

I know, but there is a greater chance of fatigue or injury,

Wouldn't be too worried about what Robbo is going to do. Hasn't made many if any bad decisions this year. If he thinks they need a rest then I rekon they will get one

I think our boys were affected more in last nights game due to the supposed selection leak...
Started thinking game 1 instead of game on...
Maloney played well but Jennings & Pearce were off...
Maybe they should have been rested last night...

I suspect Pearce and Maloney will be expected to back up after Origin, but it probably depends on the way they pull up. It's nice that we have the luxury of putting Mortimer and Langi (who has been killing it in the 20s) in the halves if anything does happen.

I'm pretty sure Robbo said a few weeks ago that they have occasionally been training in the halves in preparation for the Bulldogs game and like kurtsherlock6 said, it wouldn't be a bad thing if they had a run against the Eels if Mitch and Jimmy aren't 100%.

Robbo has had 33 players training in the NRL squad fulltime. He has made sure that we have coverage for every position, and each replacement player already knows the structures and what's expected of them. He said that no-one gets a honeymoon period when they come into the side ... they've trained there, they know what they have to do, and are expected to do it from day one.

                        Robbo is awesome.
