        That's the bigger problem.

It's mostly last year's brigade - like Kennedy's one that led directly to a try.

        Our discipline is abysmal.
Kennedy wa strying to slow the ruck he had to we were getting steam rolled he was the only one trying in defence especially after friend went off .
Kennedy could not lift his fat arse up . That's why he gave it away. And he gave another away shortly after, that got blamed on someone else. Him and SKD need to go. We have plenty of depth. Marty runs like a pea heart and always gives away ruck penaltys.

No other changes needed. They will learn from this loss.

lol...So you reckon i'm the that's needs therapy? I'm not the one who is totally paranoid about the ref's and whinging about the ref's after every single loss over the last 5 or more yrs you have been on here.

Why on earth would i stalk you? You come across as a whinging pom so i wouldn't want to get within 10 meters of a smelly pom but one day if your lucky i'll throw a bar of soap at you. Now go and have a bath you paranoid schizoid freak.

What a wanker!! We all know what your job is. You have told us enough times. Did you see see Harrigan duck behind the grassy knoll you dope? The referee, our former grand final winning fullback is obviously an anti-Easts cheat. Us getting beaten had nothing to do with how we played. Ha ha ha LOL

                We were up 16-0,

The raiders did not drop a ball in the 2nd half.

We put ourselves under pressure by them forcing line dropout and not seeing the ball for 10min of the 2nd half.

Skd and minis awful passes in try scoring opportunities in the 2nd half.

                But lets blame the ref.

While not for a moment suggesting that we lost because of the penalties last night, I feel obliged to point out that the Raiders do have a habit of getting very good penalty counts against us when they play at home. This didn't hurt them last night and it certainly didn't help us:

                    2013: 2-6
                    2012: 4-9
                    2010: 1-5
                    2009: 3-9
                    2008: 2-5

There must be something in the cool Canberra air that triggers these penalty avalanches every time we play them there.

Not saying penalties cost us the game but sure didn't help.

There were the usual inconsistencies though... we conceded em but didn't get em on almost identical plays.

Oh well...that's the lot of an Easts fan.

                        Have they changed the rules
I was absolutely livid when I heard that!! But I was equally livid when LOD simply hung an arm out to tackle Williams for the second try. Imo if Boyd Cordner stays on the field and LOD doesn't come on we win the game. I'm not saying we would have had much more dominance up the middle but that was a pathetic attempt on your own line and ended up costing us the match. His two stone cold dropped balls also won't help with him being selected next week. If Boyd plays I think they need to play either Guerra or Tasi. Both are far superior players. Oh and MK needs to watch SBW in the ruck. He holds the player down until his name is called by the ref and then immediately jumps up instead of pushing the envelope every time. On the flipside I thought his go forward was the best of our props.

I think this is Player 1's main point - not that we were penalised, but that the Raiders weren't. Given that we scored virtually every time we were in their quarter, one or two extra 50m territorial handouts could easily have changed the result of what was, regardless of the penalties, a poor performance.

It amazes me that no matter how clearly player 1 and Spirit of 66 spell out the anomaly of the lack of penalties received that there are some who just don't get the point. As Jack's Fur Coat stated above, "There were the usual inconsistencies though... we conceded em but didn't get em on almost identical plays." That is what gets to me most games, the inconsistencies.

And to those stupidly asking if Luke Phillips is in on the scam, in last night's game, the other ref cecchin (?) blew five of the six against the Roosters.

Do some more digging and I bet you will see similar penalty counts against us in other away fixtures This is one of the main reasons I rarely go to away games anymore

                                raiders - 2013
                                R1 vs penriff (A) - lost penalty count 6-7
                                R2 vs goldy (A) - drawn penalty count - 11-11
                                R3 vs dragoons (H) - won penalty count - 6-3
                                R4 vs knoughts (A) - drawn penalty count - 4-4
                                R5 vs Roosters (H) - won penalty count - 6-2

Seems the faiders can do very little wrong at home. They have a +6 differential overall.

Now, let's compare how the Roosters have fared over the same five rounds in 2013 ...
                                R1 vs vermin (H) - lost penalty count 4-9
                                R2 vs worriors (A) - lost penalty count - 6-8
                                R3 vs groncos (H) - won penalty count - 8-7
                                R4 vs eels (H) - won penalty count - 6-5
                                R5 vs raiders (A) - lost penalty count - 2-6

-9 differential. Being at home seems to make less of a difference.
