    I wouldn't go calling him a champion.
Is starting to get back in the swing of NRL but not quite there yet. Loved the niggle with big Tamou

Half a dozen State of Origins, a dozen Tests for Australia - what would you call him?

He is close to the buy of the given what I understand we paid - he did a high quality job up the middle for us last night, both in defense and attack. He ran for nearly double the yards our latet favourite son, Boyd Cordner, did. I doubt he ever will be seen that way on this forum though.

Do agree he isn't in top form, but he is getting there, and he will be invaluable to us in the finals.

That makes the likes of Mason a champion too then?
Good player in his day no doubt about that, but not a champion. Is on his way back to what he used to be, maybe a month away from hitting top form I rekon

I posted on another thread a few weeks back questioning LOD's signing. I said it reminded me of another old 'has been' signed from the UK who struggled early on in the season. Supporters were calling his signing an 'old mates' act because he had played with the coach. By the end of the season the 'old pro' more than showed his worth. I am of course talking about Brett Mullins. I will give him time before writing him off all together.

I knew it would take a while to get back into the groove of things, that's why I wasn't so critical if he was a bit quiet.

In saying that, I didn't think he'd been playing all that badly anyway.

I must have missed this thread but after reading it I don't agree with most of the critisism.

His numbers may not have been the best or whatever but it's where and when he takes his hitups that I take notice of. When he's on the field, he never shirks at taking the hard hitups when we are under the pump and he's tough as ****en nails.

Tell me you wouldn't feel better knowing that crazy **** is standing next to you on a footy field....

I'd be worried the mad **** might hit me with a swinging arm instead of the opposition. I loved his head butt that wasn't really a head butt on Tamou. Very cheeky indeed

Hopefully there will be a full retraction of this by the time jwh comes back.

I thought LOD played a great game last night. Did the tough stuff in the middle, made plenty of ground up the middle, and got under the Australian props skin. I reckon the niggle with tamou was planned. It definitely put him off his game.

FPN was dissappointing. I am expecting much more from him in the coming weeks.

I've come to not expecting much out of FPN...

Thought he had a great game last night.
Sent out there to hold his own & also upset the rhythm of Tamou.
                        He did both, imo.

An integral part of this years march to the finals.
                        Well done, Luke.

Played more than 30 mins up front in his first stint too. Warrior.

Lod had a great game. Loved his running rivalry with tamou, very entertaining. Lod also has an offload in his game. If he can play like this for the rest of the season i will be very happy. He really stood up when needed.

                            critics of the LOD!!!

Pretenders, Carn put the boot in you short sighted pussy whipped half blind cafe late sucking excuses for thinking you know what makes a player worthy!!!

Ask Tamou who got up his nostril, ask Cooper who felt like a sack of cement, ask Scott, ask Sims...in fact ask JT why his boys lost their focus getting distracted by LOD the PLOD

You want someone to lean on in the trenches, you get a man to do a mans job

Armchair coaches galore on this thread

If jwh is the 2013 version of Adrian Morley, LOD is the 2013 version of Crocker - the niggling, ultra competitive, tough guy who is mad as a cut snake. He walks a fine line, but on Saturday night he did it beautifully. The type of player that will do anything for the win and puts the other team off their game. The type of player oppositions hate.

When you have nice guys in your pack like sbw, cordner and Maubs, you need a carnt like LOD.

I've doubted the LOD signing, but ive been a fan of the decision to sign a player of his calibre to do a certain job.
You cant just have nice guys in your pack like MK and maubs and cordner, you need some mongrel, some nut case that will push you that much further in a game that could go either way.
LOD doesn't play two nights ago = We don't win.
