We are getting quite the team of 'tards on here lately..

We should get The Mack to do a lineup of Tards mate.

Being a realist I say we deserve the spoon because we were an absolute disgrace for the majority of the year. The Sharks' hans left games which they lost, but saw their team compete and give them something to cheer about on many occasions. Unfortunately I can barely remember cheering this year ( except against Newcastle). The whole year has become a blur for me.

As a Roosters fan that's devoid of reality, I say let's win and make Stuart and his poofs suffer !!!!!!

The NRL should make a system that if any player is part of a spoon winning team they are devalued as a punishment.

Yeah could work, and also help out teams who are doing poorly because they could sign some decent players.

I'd actually like some form of relegation so that the boys give more of a toss about the spoon. I'd cheer for the Jets if they got promoted to the NRL! (Although that would be unlikely given their form this season... still.)

                devalued ?
that means nothing. If they valuated the players in the first place based on the market they would all drop 50-60% of their salaries.

I agree that players should be fined if they get the spoon, I think salaries should be incentive based.

Horrie Is God floated that idea recently mate, a very appealing one IMO.

Give every player a minimum wage as a base and the better you perform the more cashola you earn.

Sounds good in theory, but in reality how could a club hope to recruit players under this structure, when they could go to another club with a guaranteed salary.

Imagine every club structured their cap with a top 30 players all earning say $100K. Then performance and results and rep selections etc could determine what you could earn from there.

It would destroy player managers greed and help clubs with the cap etc. Sponsors could be used to pay overs for teams that perform, as they will gain exposure from that success.

It could work in theory, but I doubt wed ever see that sort of system in place.

I guess part of the system is that players are only worth what you pay for them as a club.

The way you win is by signing a bunch of cheap players and making them good...

We stuffed up because we signed a lot of players who have played for either Australia or NZ... cost us 200-400 grand a piece... and make our salary cap a brimming mess. I guess they are all losing out because they're not getting their rep bonuses...etc anymore but still... we're definitely paying too much for the worst team in the comp!
