I've stuck up for Botha's abilities more than anyone of late, but after seeing him at the weigh in, my mind is more at ease about Sonny playing round 1.Originally posted by Teriyaki Chicken Boy:276925I hope he wins but I have to admit I am very worried. I keep saying Botha, while well past his best is a very dangerous opponent. He is a big, strong, hardnut of a bloke. I am sure Botha can easily last 10 rounds which Sonny-Bill has never done.
I wish SBW luck and just hope he gets through relatively unscathed.
P.S. If anyone does have a link I would greatly appreciate a PM as well.
P.S.S. MODS - A question - If I find a link can I mention I have one and invite others to ask me for a PM? Cheers.

Actually I was just watching footage of Botha's last victory and it was ordinary. Two fat, unfit guys about to fall over and Botha managed to get the KO. Apparently he has lost his last 3 fights since then but has also lost 9kgs and claims to be fit right now. If SBW gets the KO it isn't going to be easy but hopefully he stays safe for the first few rounds and his youth, fitness and athleticism get him the win.Originally posted by Greedy666 View PostI've stuck up for Botha's abilities more than anyone of late, but after seeing him at the weigh in, my mind is more at ease about Sonny playing round 1.
One other thing that not many people have considered about SBW and his boxing is that the guy, while raw, could be a legitimate talent.

Your last sentence Is why I have said there is only one possible result in this fight. If it were not for Bothas past fights aginst Champions most over a decade well over a decade ago and SBWs rawness in the ring I would label this fight a mismatchOriginally posted by Teriyaki Chicken Boy View PostActually I was just watching footage of Botha's last victory and it was ordinary. Botha's a big man but looks surprisingly fast (and has a MASSIVE punch.)
He's fighting against an old man... my guess is that this fight will be similar to Green punching out Roy Jones Jr in the first minute. Stronger, technically more advanced fighter, but SBW is young and amazingly fit.
SBW SHOULDN'T have too many problems... but Botha's a real fighter so you never know.

If SBW can get a good victory tonight it will be very interesting to see who he fights next. His mate Mundine has fought a lot of bums over the years but I think SBW has bigger goals than fighting part-timers in RSL clubs. With his looks he would be very marketable in the USA.

lol SBW is a great athlete, But his not a fighter, and not someone that is going to beat anyone credible, He Holds his hand too low and honestly does not roll with punches like a proper fighter, He will continue to fight at his own level and if he does try to branch off into the USA he will find out very fast that he is not a boxer, His a Footy player.Originally posted by Teriyaki Chicken Boy View PostIf SBW can get a good victory tonight it will be very interesting to see who he fights next. Well I am going to have to politely disgree with you there. I predict that if he beats Botha his next opponent will be a fighter of higher pedigree/quality. People carry on out about all this Money-Bill stuff but I don't buy it. I think it is insulting and way off the mark. IMO he really is a supreme athlete, he has made money over the past few years after being in debt when he left the NRL and I think money is not really the motivation for him. It may have been at first but I think things have evolved. I also think he has enough cash in the bank now that he doen't need to worry about money. Anyway - just my opinion, lets see what happens but I think if it was just about money he wouldn't be fighting Botha who clearly has the potential to knock him out.Originally posted by IRoosterManI View Postlol SBW is a great athlete, But his not a fighter, and not someone that is going to beat anyone credible, He Holds his hand too low and honestly does not roll with punches like a proper fighter, He will continue to fight at his own level and if he does try to branch off into the USA he will find out very fast that he is not a boxer, His a Footy player.

I can't see SB being knocked out. He is too big, fit and strong.Originally posted by RWB23 View PostIf anyone finds a link I'd appreciate a PM too.
