All those halves suggestions are rubbish. Pearce and Maloney will be great together next year. If either of them get injured then option #2 may well be SBW and Maloney/Pearce.

      7 Maloney-6 Symonds
      7 Maloney-6 Takairangi
      7 Jacks-6 Maloney
      7 Maloney-6 Littlejohn

They are just suggestions, if you have others let us know.

On Pearce I honestly believe that what you get from Pearce now is what you are going to get forever. I sometimes talk about on here how the best players peak between the age of 27 to 30 but they are considered very good players from a young age & play some very good footy before this age but it is from around the 27 to 30 year mark the player who ever he is starts to take his footy alot more serious in regards to diet, recovery, training & rest.

Now with Pearce I can see him always being fit, relatively healthy & definitely making a career out of football & being a good solid first grader but that is all he will be IMO. He will get no better between the age of 27 to 30 IMO.

I tend to believe the Roosters would be better off without him & Anasta, again only my opinion.
One of these two. I think that Kheirallah is very underrated by smith. Had he been in the halves with pearce, we may be in the 8 this year. He has a good kicking game and passing game and has been Newtown's best performer and consistent. Jacks is also a good option. A bit risky but has played well in the 20s.

Mortimer is also another option but when he has played in the halves he hasn't had enough creativity.
      Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

        How about
        7 Maloney; 6 SBW?

If Pearce did go, it would be for 2014 - I doubt Politis will release him early. And I reckon he will be like Maloney and get his future sorted early, early next season at the latest. Gives us plenty of time to seek out a talented half at another club looking for an opportunity. We'll have decent money to offer so someone reasonable will take it I suspect.

I don't see much quality in the present other halves options at our club, with the possible exception of Mortimer.

            I like!

Inside centre is always standing at second receiver in Union anyway, so it could happen.

Neither of those two will be anything in teh NRL. Talk about talking up your reserves.

I think SBW is a top player but I dont think 5/8 would be his go. FB maybe.

                Secondrow for me though.

While sharing a bowl of wonton soup and some goats cheese with MRHK and LemonGoat, I learned that Pearce is to undergo a sex change and to have cosmetic surgery to make his eyes look asian so he can then work in a Honk Kong brothel with the Goat as his pimp and MRHK his best client.

That rules out Japanese rugby I suppose. Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained?

I am struggling to believe what I am reading.

The hate for Pearce on here is absurd.

Suggesting we would be better off with reserve graders like Kheirallah and Mortimer, nuffies like Riley Jacks or even backrowers like Taikarangi in our halves is absolutely ludicrous.

It is funny, because Pearce has over the years been compared and contrasted most often with two players: Soward (because he was at the club) and Sandow (because he was at Souffs).

Soward had one good year under Bennett, who knew how to play to Jamie's strengths and hide his considerable deficiencies. He now has struggled to hold down a first grade spot and is playing ordinary footy.

Sandow is pathetic. Up there with Anasta as the biggest waste of money in this league. He might score a flukey try here and there but the majority of his decision making is abonimable - and he achieves this mediocrity even with world class support in the spine (Hayne). The Eels ladder position speaks for itself - it's a tough job being worse than we are.

Now that Pearce's main two "competitors" (in my mind, they never were) have fallen off, we turn to our own bloody reserve graders, and claim they are better than Mitchell. I guess you blokes take comfort in the fact that you'll never be proven wrong because these nuffies will never play first grade, and you can just claim if Pearce hadn't have been here they would have killed it.

Deadset, one of the only guys in our club who puts in, one of the few who deserves a better finish and better support than he gets and will get, and we bag the shit out of him. Unbelievable.
