  • I apologise......

for my other thread. The frustration took over and my rant was probably not really warranted.

I just cant get my head around where this club is going with all the releasing of players and the apparent clearing the decks for SBW who may just stay one year.

I want our club to build a culture that resembles strong competitive clubs such as the Broncos or dare I say it the Dogs. One where players want to come and play.

Last night the boys did have a dig and should have won. My frustration was immense and I let it go on here which I should not have.

I'll say this .Kevin Hastings is looking to move back to OZ Hire him he picked up on a few pointers that no one else at the club has.
You want culture you want attitude -make him boss.he will also make sure they are fit.
When we are down we have always had Arties shoulder to cry on and he always lent a hand so I cant think of a better person to come in ,in Horrie

Firstly dont worry, everyone should blow off steam.

Secondly dont worry, SBW will be here for at least 2 years.

I don't understand the view of "clearing the decks for SBW". Who have we released that we wanted to stay?

Carney is the only player I would have liked see stay, but he had nothing to do with SBW and I can understand the clubs view on releasing him. We have Maloney coming, who whilst is not an out and out star, brings an ability to break the line, great support play and a solid boot.

This year we have let go of Anasta, big deal. Perrett a loyal clubman who is certainly replaceable. Oldfield comes in who has speed to burn, and potential upside, something Perrett does not have. Mitchell was a solid option at Hooker, but not the end of the world.

The core group of our team is signed for at least next season, with the likes of Kennedy, BJ, Tautau and Evans signed until end of 2014, and JWH, Maloney, SKD, Maso, Friend and Guerra to 2015.

In my view SBW will improve this team drastically. I’m confident we will be getting him for below his market value, given the earnings he can generate elsewhere. Lining up beside SBW will bring confidence to our young squad. Confidence in my opinion is critical to the success of any team, with confidence passes stick.

I second and third and thousandth that idea Brain.
If the club doesn't engage Horrie, they're idiots, sorry, bigger idiots than they already are.

Dolphin I feel your pain and frustration and indeed still feel it right now and I for one wasn't bothered by your letting off steam last night in your other thread.

                            No need to apologise dolphin.

The loss last night was absolutely gutless. I wasn't even shocked or upset when they made the linebreak to win it. It was a forgone conclusion the moment merritt scored that souths were going to win. Our team does not have the fortitude to close out a game, nor the attitude to give their all for the win.

It was summed up perfectly on the last play. All but 3 players completely gave up once Merritt got the ball. Those 3 managed to run down Merritt, then Luke. Luke threw a wayward ball over his head that bounced along the ground and was eventually picked up by Reynolds who was running on one leg. Had even 1 of the other 10 bums who were just jogging back already conceding defeat actually chased, they'd have easily covered Luke's pass and we win.

As it stands they didn't, and a hobling reynolds was able to scoop up the ball and put it down over the line.

All this talk of "next year".... its been rolling around this club since 2005. Next year never comes.

If our season was still alive I would take it as a roobed win and hard fought game and improvement what I cant take is that we have missed out on the finals. We can beat Panthers, Eels but we have to verse Dogs nd on form Raiders. We can beat 2 out of the next 6 teams and I think we are capable against the Tigers if 5/8 position is changed an Taka stays, Seluini stays, Bosden comes, Aubs leaves. We can also beat the Titans and Dragons but it will be had but the biggest challenge I believe is the Bulldogs but its before the finals so hopefully they'll est a fewplyes. We have a 2cm chance but at least lets play 4 pride. I think we can have a strong run if Smiffy makes some changes. Please Smiff for the season you must realise there are players who dont deserve to represent the RWB
