Disappointed we lost but last season we started off badly too before turning it around and I expect this season to be no different.

DCE is either completely out played and everything he tries affects the team badly or he plays outstanding lifting everyone around him.
It’s be that way for many years with him.
He has less outstanding games these days, probably a lot to do with his age.

Should we have signed him, probably not but the club believe he will add value and will be here for the season.

The Wahs are always hard to beat over there and the Chooks have been clunky for the first 6 or 7 rounds for years now. The storming home to the number 8 spot has become a depressing feature but it's exciting to see the slow build to competitiveness and then dominance as it happens. The problem is that the team cohesion level attained at the end of a season does not carry over though mentally the side wrongly feels it is still there, hence the unsuccessful flashiness. The Riff don't have this problem.

The reality is that the side has, once again, to work eliminate the clunk and get the machine rolling which, as we've seen, takes time, a lot of effort, experimentation and losses. There is every indication that this pattern will be repeated this year.

The Pamfers look the goods again. Talagai is a prodigiously talented 6, McLean an impressive youngster and the pack is tough and mobile.

They look fresher than this time last season. No GF or WCC.

Only injuries to key position will stop them imo.

Let's lay blame on DCE but ignore the fact we were ill disciplined and lacked ball control.......like last year and the year before and........

Let's hope for week by week improvement, cohesion, and consistency.

I think the nuance is that you don't win games by just holding onto the pill and being conservative. You want to take calculated risks, roll the ruck and be creative.

Our ceiling is always high in terms of creativity. However disciplined creativity is HARD. Particularly in a world where a muppet of the betting industry starts changing the rules every year in an attempt to make the game more friendly for betting agencies.

I agree except the roosters style is expecting the IMPOSSIBLE which doesn’t come off very often.

Just another game where we beat ourselves. Dropped balls and stupid penalties but i was really disappointed with Collins and the back rowers. Fahu cant do it all by himself

Sam Walker has to control his game mindset a bit better as those 2 early kicks on 1st and 2nd tackles was not what the doctor ordered especially as the Roosters were coming home with a wet sail.

Certainly took the wind out of their sails.

The Roosters did create a lot of opportunities other than the tries disallowed but of course the curse of errors and ill discipline in conceding penalties and set restarts put them on the back foot especially in the first half as down 22-6 at half time- tackle count at full time was Warriors - 248 - Roosters 345.

Need to be better in set completions and reducing errors and conceding penalties/set restarts to reduce your defence workload.

I know DCE is copping it but Sam had an indifferent game apart from those 2 kicks - 5 missed tackles , 2 errors and 3 penalties conceded.

Both DCE and Sam Walker will be targeted in defence by all teams

Sammy - 8 positive plays with 2 negative plays

DCE - 3 positive plays with 6 negative plays

Players like N Cleary can go 20 plus positive plays with 1 negative play when he is firing and has the ball on a string. Cam Smith would have a 50 plus to 1 ratio for most of his career.
