It's sad but the great thing about the Roosters this year is our depth. Watson to hooker where he played last year and was dominant with Ioelu on the bench.

Depth? We didn’t get anywhere near the trophy last year so playing almost the same team this year doesn’t exactly instill much confidence. Only DCE has to get injured and we’re back to where we were last year. And from the way the tigers tore us apart it’s gonna be a long season. Add to that the fact that Robbo will never fix our error rate and we can forget this year. Apart from Hugo many of our lower grade players are just not up to the standard needed to win the comp.

No big deal, gives Ioelu more game time which is a good thing but also a bad thing because he will shine and get attention from other clubs then leave at the end of the year.

Why would a team largely made up of SG Ball, Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup players getting their asses handed to them in a second half when most of the first graders had departed the field be a sign that out first grade side is going to struggle?

Was waiting to see how our front line defence improved with Robson in the team but will have to wait for a while longer now.

Bad luck for Robbo2, hopefully its a quickish recovery. I wasn't a fan of his signing (or Garrick, or Talau or DCE or anyone recently save Mark N actually) but wish him well.

I feel partially responsible for his sig though. I got in touch with Nick and said mate please sign Reece ...at any cost. I meant Reece Walsh! He did a Mick Molloy and got the wrong bloke. Ah well.

If he's only getting 20 minutes a game with us but someone like Perth or PNG offers him a starting spot he will be released IMO these days contracts don't really much and I don't expect him to still be at the club in 2028.

Don't even consider moving cheap as chips Benny on at this stage. Great cover and adds a little spark playing off the bench. Youthful exuberance type spark!

He could eventually be our long term hooker when Robson retires. Benny has potential!

I like Benny but he's still a pup and miles off a starting spot unless he wants to win a spoon elsewhere.

He needs to bide one's time, master his craft and the big dollars plus career satisfaction will happen naturally.

The exact same thing happened to Sammy when he was making his long awaited comeback from the ACL last year.
