I think the club would do it too but I wouldn't personally. The only issue with Haas is whether he wants to stay in the NRL long term or will he dip out to yawnion, R360 etc in a few years otherwise I think you do whatever you can to get him for a 5-7 year deal but I'm not losing sleep over not having him in the team either it took the Broncos a long time to get the premiership with Haas and they got the wooden spoon when he was the only good player they had. If my club is going to be a one man team in 2026 it will be based around Cleary or Moses not Haas.Originally posted by Mickie Lane View Post
If Hass was offered to the Roosters but we would have to release Whyte to Souths I think the Chooks would do it.
Hass is 26 & is by far the best forward in the game, of course you would take him clauses or no clauses.Last edited by SamKerrSimp; 02-12-2026, 10:16 AM.

Hakeem he changed his name anyway? I'll bet it's so we can't call him Payne in the Haas anymore.

Release Whyte?
Surely you joke.
He's our best forward, close to our best player.
We should not be signing players with clauses.
It should be that you're totally committed to the Roosters for the length of your contract or you're not.
If not, then you don't get signed.
Whyte is not our problem...our problem is our ...mistake rate...59% completion rate is the first half in the round 27 game against Souths, for example.
Whyte is our alpha & I wouldn’t release him.
What I was alluding to is that if Hass was offered to the Chooks instead of him going to Souths but Souths had to be compensated & the compensation was Whyte I believe the Roosters would do it.
But that’s not going to happen.

As a person of no religion it surprises me why muslims change their name but I have no problem with it.Originally posted by Jacks Fur Coat View Post

Who could forget when Beau Champion came out in the lead up to a big game in 2010 and bagged the Roosters for not having juniors.Originally posted by ism22 View Post
Souffs released Koloamatagi in order to achieve this 'coup'. It's a classic Souffs move, where they dump a local junior who's ticking all the boxes in order to afford a marquee signing.
Good on them for signing Fifita and Haas. Two 'beasts' who can also be lazy as fark and seem to spend 90% of their time asserting they've got a get-out clause, which they'll be milking to the max while their club struggles with form/retention (scrum Brisbane's premiership... Canberra bundled them out in week 1 of the finals... the game was a fix).
I'm glad we've got faithful players like Whyte, Collins, Rads, Watson, Butcher...etc on our books. Leniu and Robson add a heap of spice to our lineup as well.
Looking forward to seeing Souffs fail despite trying to buy a premiership. Hope Nick trolls the hell outta them by arranging regular coffee catch-ups with Haas to check where he's at regarding his get out clause.
A few weeks later he was moved on for Greg Inglis.
Souffs, the hypocrites of the league.
