  • Just a wee heads ups.

I've been watching loads of footy replays as I'm really starting to miss it. I'de say that the slowest player in most of Manly's games including the forwards was DCE last season. His lateral movement really shows his age.

Don't get your hopes up folks.

I watched him closely yesterday during training and was actually pleasantly surprised by his speed, particularly when practicing set plays off scrums.

Changing clubs could have brought a new lease of life!

to be expected for a 36yr old.

Luckily we didn't sign him to score 100m tries - depending on what side of the field he plays i have trust in Gus or Rads to step up defensively

We could also potentially be the slowest overall team. Still, speed isn't everything

There's a nice compilation of 2025 tries, line breaks etc on YouTube that really get's the juices going. Raiders have loads of speed in their 3/4s.

          Forget 100 metres!

His lack of speed last season was effecting the timing of their plays. He was also skinned countless times down Manly's right edge. They need a stat that measures how often a halfback dies with ball. DCE hands down would've topped this stat last season! This featured heavily in his game for QLD during SOO game 1.

The new Roosters style footy could well be in slow motion this season which should help reduce our unforced error count.

We will just have to wait and see how the season unfolds.

I wasn't, and still not a fan of the DCE signing - but fingers crossed it works out.

            GO ROOSTERS.

DCE is going to play a key role in us winning the comp this year, we didn't sign him for his speed.

My concern isn't so much his speed but how predictable he was in attack. Attempts to run before turning back in and passing to a player who can't do anything except die with the ball in hand.

I don't think DCE at the age of 36 could win a comp with our 2018/19 team. Comps aren't just given away!

We'd have athletes in their 40's still playing the game if speed wasn't an issue.
