    ROOSTERS SIGN FOURTH TOIA BROTHER

The Sydney Roosters have added the signature of a fourth Toia brother ahead of the beginning of the junior representative season.

Recently extending Queensland Maroons centre Robert Toia for two more seasons until the end of 2029, the Roosters have now signed centre Andy Toia on a pathways contract, which will see him play in the Under-17s Harold Matthews Cup competition.

A Redcliffe Dolphins junior, Andy has traits similar to his older brother, including barnstorming runs at centre and the ability to shrug off defenders with ease.

This comes after the Bondi-based side had already signed two of Robert’s younger brothers last season - Ahloka and Mana.

A front-rower, Ahloka featured in the NRL Pre-Season Challenge last season and made several appearances in the NSW Cup, while Mana will also play in the Harold Matthews Cup and will line up alongside Andy in the centres.

In an interview last year, Robert Toia admitted that one of his main goals in his rugby league career is to share the field with his younger brothers.

“That’s definitely the goal that I really want to tick off the list,” Toia said.

As some of you may know, I watched a few NSW Cup games last year. Impressions of Aholoka Toia - not the biggest prop (182cm, 100kg), ran with purpose though, promising signs.

In his first year against men he certainly didn't look out of place - still early in his development though, i'd say he is at least another year or 2 away from NRL

          Toby and Tom Rodwell

          Nat and Egan Butcher

          And now 4 Toia's ( Robert , Ahloka , Mana and Andy)

Let’s hope his brothers have the same sort of potential / ability.

I agree with your assessment Rooster90. Expect coach Robbo will bring Aholoka along in the same way he did Lindsey.

Very impressive by the Roosters. Even if it only one or two (Rodwells and Toias) that can match Roberts ability, we're barrelling along, sunny days..

when you think we only really brought Mitch Aubo to the club because of his brother, bringing all these talented families to the club and looking after them properly is a great strategy. Obviously it has it's dangers...if one isn't re-signed it might cause animosity with another, but I think that can be managed

                          Brother Lee Luv.

Hope we keep the four brothers thats quite a catch. Don't want anyone throwing the Toia's out of the cot.
