My son has his hands full with life these days and is still struggling with the Bondi Terrorist attack as are so many others.

He was in here incessantly death riding the team and Smith in particular, who he hated with a vengence. Every single post was an anti Brian Smith tirade. Even after a semi-final win, TOK would comfortably turn it into an anti-Smith diatribe.

When Brian Smith left the coaching role, so too did TOK from the Chook Pen.

Anyway, my faves were all from 10 odd years ago or more. I don't know if its just me, but there was a lot of banter and good sense of humour back then that seems to be not quite the same these days.

Even Brain, who used to have his legendary player ratings post-game, these days just seems bitter and bored.

For my Immortals, every long term Moderator the Chook Pen has ever had is my nomination. They do a fair bit of free work, so they deserve it. I'm got the privilige of sitting here for free, shooting my mouth off thanks to them.

It was that Fred68 (?) that had a bee in his bonnet about Brian Smith, and then disappeared after Smith was sacked. That seemed to be their sole motivation on this forum.

He was always good for a laugh. Posted a thread on here really drunk one night...came back and forgot he was the one that posted it originally. Wrote a nasty response and then got into an arguement over it. Next day he realised it was him all along!

Horrie Hastings - H is a quality person and universally loved Chookpenner.
Mighty Rooster - adds her own feminine touch to the male dominated forum and always keeps it real and respectful.

Special mention obviously to JT as others have said. We weren't forum buddies but those that knew him personally vouch for what a top bloke he was. Easts tragic gone too soon.

Another shout out.. to King Salvo et al. Admire how he just stands on his own two feet without seeking support from anyone. Plenty of ticker and valuable contributions.

Notable mentions - Player 1, Spirit of 66, Carlos Parra, Crab. Inflictor, Bruce Pickett, Batemans Bay Rooster, Hawkeye, Trewhella. (I may have missed some).

Aside: Remember that cat The Oracle? Full on essays with mega punctation and capitals, plenty of heat etc. He slapped me around quite a bit because I was a big Brian Smith fan and he sure wasn't. He was quite manic, so much so I could only laugh rather than be offended. His style was so unique I don't think he is still with us.

Funniest cat was Braith Anasta's Wallet. Enjoyed his satirical understated wit in the early stages. May have morphed into Boogie?? May be still around.

Most misunderstood - Lime Goat. Think Kegs birthed the goats if memory serves. He is still around too I think.
