                Stop it!

That makes me a little emotional.

                Thank you.

Bates is a programmed AI bot, seeking to cover off every aspect of the happy coastal retiree lifestyle. Including "spearfishing". How did that get through.

Bates is Bates. The bot error calls his "charity work" "meals on meals." "Bates" is whatever you believe it is.

                  Or isn't.

                    That does not compute.

Bates doesn't need to convince me of his daily activities as he had already won me over when he had mentioned his volunteer work with the firefighters a few weeks back. He went up many notches in my estimation back then, plus he is the best judge of character on here that I know.

Our families ran businesses not far from one another it appears and we all share the same work ethic.

He and I just like to have banter that is not harmful or spiteful and I really enjoy his Away from the Game threads as well, as they are topics I'm interested in also mostly.

This place wouldn't be nearly as interesting without him. We need more members to come back or join up as well so here's to a successful 2026 season.

You forgot your cross stitching of your Welcome Tino banner as mentioned in the Hobbies thread!

I'm lucky I have the best of both worlds. I can work full time from 7am to 3pm and then finish up and have 6 hours to myself until bedtime at 9pm. That's almost the equivalent of a full working day to do whatever I want.
Jokes aside, we shouldn't judge one another for what anyone does in a day, as long as no harm is being done to someone else. That's what grinds my gears..bored people trolling others online to get their kicks and Bates is not in that category.

Everyone is wired differently and all have different family commitments. This time 20 years ago I was taking time off to take care of Mum before she passed and now I'm back working for the same employer. You never know what life is going to throw at you next. My neighbourhood is well aware of that as we still have police camped outside my street.

Take care everyone no matter what your situation. Staying happy and well is the main thing.

Bates, your kids and grandkids are swarming aroung, wanting you to take them spearfishing, and then para-gliding. And you still need to pump-iron this afternoon.

You should fire up the boat, and then the plane. Or maybe the plane first?? What would the grandkids prefer? Regardless, maybe you can keep posting while you're in the air/on the water? Or pumping iron.
