That's a big yes from me. I've decided not to retire now for another 17 years based off what I see on here..and I say that with love..

Seriously though, retiring too early is not good for the body, mind and soul. There was an article in The Good Weekend about the downfalls of it all but I'm too busy working to read it..

That said however, for my hardworking friends I do know in person here who have retired recently, they fully deserve their well earned break from the workforce and I wish them a very long, happy, healthy and fruitful retirement with many more Roosters premierships to kick back and enjoy.

I think it’s the reason he always goes after Salvo. He wants to create every thread on the Chookpen.

              Ala Turk, krut.
Hmmm, the similarities are eerie .

Nah, I’ve never been fitter, healthier and happier since retiring at 55. Its not so much the time that makes a difference, but the absence of stress.

Agree. I use my mental faculties a lot more and better now than I ever did in the public service. I still need to work harder on the fitness aspect though! My biggest stress now is worrying about the young adult kids finding their way in the world.

Bates is fine, loves his chooks, brings up good footy related threads and he isn’t an asshole, unless he has to be, which is fine with me.

Having worked an average of 60 plus hours a week and managing countless full-time staff and sub contractors I much prefer to now wake up at 5am ,walk the dogs, breakfast then a surf or a walk with my wife, tend to my garden, go fishing or spearfishing with my mates, read a book, go for a swim, have a Greek siesta, pump some iron and stretch, 2nd surf if it's good, 2 odd hours on the Pen, watch a show on Netflix, watch footy replays, go out to lunch etc .

I'm also in our local RFS, voluntary work at meals on meals Ulladulla and our local community garden. I've also got a tribe of kids and grand kids who are never too far away.

My life is full, I feel whole and if I were to die in the near future I have zero regrets!

                            Up the Chooks.

Speaking of "goes after" why does the Duchess always go after you? This was way before my time so it's a genuine question.
